I been type 1 for 15 years and have struggled over the years keeping my self on target with my diabetes doing less blood checks over the years, (due to work was having to turn finger pricker up high to get through hard skin).

My biggest concern is being just over 9st and 5'11 and feel like a bag of bones, I have tried going gym to bulk out on and off for 5 years but no joy, struggle in finding foods to put mass weight on, Not that I want to be some mass body builder, but because I feel I need few more pounds on personally due to my work lugging equipment around.

Any help on finding a way to put this weight on would be greatly appreciated

Some of the stupid suggestions made by Diabetes Consultant, who seems to know less than patients, we don't all fit in this typical box!
It should be easy to put on weight with type 1. Generally more difficult to loose it.
Best people to discuss this with are your Diabetes Specialist nurse at hospital, your diabetes consultant and Dietian.

@Fabiocrozier Good morning and welcome to the forum. As @Johndotcom has suggested it would be good to contact your team who will book you an apt with a dietitian, they can look at your current diet and make changes, however be aware with any dietary changes your insulin requirements will change so please keep a close eye on your BG readings ;)

What are your sugar levels? How much insulin do you take?

I use 20units Lantus in a morning and between 8-15units of novarapid depending on meals.

My glucose levels I cant give a good answer on as, I need to look into ways of checking my blood without using finger tips as i just cant draw any blood from them,

Find it hard to find recipes and meal plans for putting weight on, as the only recipes i ever see are for low carb diets for diabetics, When im sure i am meant to be packing on the carbs to be able to pack the weight on :/
