Keeping On Track - after the Newcastle/Mosely Diet

10 weeks since finished ND
Weight=loss this week .9lb
181.2 lb (82.2kg0
FBG 4.2 to 5.2 range

Couple of mini goals broke the 13 stone mark and BMI now under 28.

Had a bloody awful week with a bit of depression hitting early in the week. It didn't help that my knee stopped me from walking as usual. Didn't test on Monday and ate some potato crisps and sweet biscuits as well as some bread. Snapped out of it by Wednesday and not too much damage done. I have to think that if it had hit when my BG's were out of control I'm not sure if I could have managed as well as I did. Still very wary but have been very active today and have been back on track with the food since Wednesday

Little Goals on the Horizon
Break the 180lb mark
Break the 80kg mark

Update
Much better couple of days. Seem to have beaten off the blues and got back on track. Being low carbing as well as low Calories this week (around 1300 a day) to push a little harder to my goal. Still having to rest the knee so walking/ running stopped for a few more days. I am looking into alternatives perhaps cycling and Gym on alternative days. I have dug out the bike from the shed and some air in the tyres a helmet and a light and I should be right to give it a go.
Cheers

Great to hear you are feeling a bit better.. and well done on the superb numbers too.. I wondered about the ND because its such a huge change for 8 weeks and then what? but you are showing you can maintain progress afterwards.. you're doing a great job.. an inspiration.
All the best
Mark

Thanks Mark
Some of the wise heads on here pointed out to me early on about the risks of YoYo style weight-loss and I took that on board so the end of the ND became part of the journey rather than the end of it. LCHF since has been very effective and having a very specific weight-loss goal important as well. Now I am thinking forward to what my goals are when I achieve that final target.

11 weeks since finished ND
Weight=loss this week 2.7lb
178.5 lb (81.00kg)
FBG 4.1 to 4.8 range

Mini goals broke the 180lb mark.

Had a much better week and was very happy with the loss this week. 2kg to go to hit my goal of 79kg. Still mucking around a bit with lunch/snack during the day. Breakfast is fine as I enjoy a cooked breakfast. Dinner is also pretty good as I have whatever the family are having less the carbs which seems to work well most nights. This week rather than proper lunch I was snacking on Cheese sticks and nuts during the day and I was quite happy with that and it certainly contributed to the weight-loss. Already I am thinking ahead to what my diet will look like when I am trying to maintain my weight and also if I am happy with 79kg as my stable weight. If you use BMI as a guideline I will still be around 27 and technically overweight.

Little Goals on the Horizon
Break the 80kg mark

Just a quick update.

I cooked dinner for the family tonight Spaghetti Bolognese and decided to bite the bullet and have it with pasta and 2 pieces of garlic bread myself. It was the first time I have had pasta and garlic bread since December Tested at 4.9 before starting and 6.2 2 hours later I gotta say I was a bit excited. It will be interesting to see FBG in the morning but that was a pleasant surprise

Mind you not probably t0o good for the weight as I still need to knock off another 2kg. Will have to pay tomorrow
Cheers

I have been battling a bit with Depression over the last couple of weeks and but totally lost it yesterday with no control and hiding in a corner and eating ****. Today I woke up and gave myself a kick in the bum. Went for a 40 minute walk, then went and got a haircut and on a whim a pedicure and manicure (first time ever) came home and slept for 3 hours straight and woke up with aches and pains in joints and muscles so looks like I am coming down with a virus or flu. That is actually a relief as it may not just be the black dog.

I am determined to get on top of this and will take myself off to the quacks tomorrow. Next Saturday is my daughters wedding and I will be walking her down the aisle so I need to be in top nick. On the positive side the suit I will be wearing is about the same size as the first one I bought 35 years ago. Had a good day foodwise as I wasn't up to eating much but made myself east some bacon and egg and later a bunless burger. lots of fluids and early to bed.

Hi All

Well been on holidays and gave away my daughter three weeks ago. the wedding was fantastic and I have had 3 weeks of no testing and no dieting. While having a break was great it did cost in terms of putting on 4.6lbs but while I didn't test for 3 weeks I pulled a 4.9 this morning which was a bit of a relief.

My learning are that I really just should have had 2 or 3 days off and that it is important to get back on the bike otherwise I could undo all the great results I have had this year.

So back on the Lchf this week and chasing my original goal of 79kg

Current weight 83.5kg

Cheers
