I guess you know kevin your response to glucose can be abnormal if you have not got readjusted to carbs over the last few days? However I would think your long term bloods will be excellent. atb Derek QUOTE="KevinPotts, post: 1204272, member: 290458"]Second A1C and full Lipid Panel supplemented by OGTT, but with just first + 2 hours by doc...

Yep....doc said the OGTT will be a better predicter, though different from my A1c, didn't really understand why unless she is simply referring to insulin resistance?

Interesting isn't it: "Anatomy of a Fast" - you're our little human guinea pig aren't you! :p

Again I think wearing a Libre sensor would have given you some fascinating information tday.

Kevin, do I understand you correctly, that you moved around during those two hours? When I had mine I was told to sit still, as moving would have an influence on the result.

OGTT: @ 2 hours after glucose I was 7.4 mmol

How are these for OGTT please?

At two hours your blood glucose level is higher than your fasting bloods.
You are too high.
You could still have insulin resistance or just too much glucose from the test left in your blood.
If that glucose was a food you were testing to see if you were tolerant to it, you have just found out that you can't tolerate glucose.
You do have a high spike from normal levels!

I still think you will cruise your hba1c though!

It is always interesting!
As someone has said, it's a pity, they are not using a monitor recording it all the way through the test.
You would find your spike and how long exactly your downward trend takes and your curve. Also what time your second insulin response happens.
Pity it's not a prolonged one as well to see when you return to normal levels.
