A very good figure.
(Way too low for me personally, but very respectable if you can mange that low a blood glucose, we just had this discussion on another thread)

Jolly good show old chap.

That's absolutely amazing; achieved, no doubt, by some very hard work on your behalf.

What's wrong with it being this low for a T2. He does not have insulin to help presumably so I think it is a major achievement.

Wow that really is brilliant. I have never managed to get my HbA1c that low....but now I have something to aim for. You should be very proud of yourself for achieving this. :)

Hello David. That is a stunning result. Very, very well done. One of the things it does illustrate though is the impact, for those of us who are not taking any medication, of what we eat and drink.

I had a little peep at your profile, just to see if you were managing purely with diet, and noticed your comment that due to your spinal injury, your diabetes would be hard to handle. Do you still feel the same?

I don't define myself at a 'T2'
There is more to my life than labeling myself T2.
You need to look beyond that to define yourself.

I merely state it's too low for me.
Which it is.
But since you ask.
A Hba1c of that level means a BG of averaging 4.7.

It may not be a popular view, but I don't feel good below 4.5, so an average of 4.7 would be really bad.
For me. (Some may define themselves by chasing the lowest figures, I don't, been there, don't like it)
Either I'd be chronically low a lot of the time, or I wouldn't eat anything that raises me even slightly, and that's way to limiting for my lifestyle.
I don't chase low numbers.
However, the op must be comfortable at that level, hence my statement its a good figure for him.
My average is in the 5's, which I personally like.

Obviously, as an adult you can choose to manage your condition in any way you please.

Personally, I applaud the OP's achievement. Again, personally, I have never quite managed to squeak into the 20s, but would be fine with it if I did, provided I felt well, and my metabolic markers remained good.. My bloods run, to quote your words, "chronically low" for most of the time. It seems to be where my body likes to run these days.

My current HbA1c history is up to date. I eat well. I eat an extremely varied diet, and I'm content how I am. One man's too low, is another's doing fine. I prefer to stick with the positive, on a day the OP is clearly celebrating his positive changes, as indeed he should.

That's fantastic news! Well done.
I'm going to have a try, again.
What inspiration! :)

Are you not in the 20's?
Your normal BG seems to suggest you should be?
Do you wonder why your Hb1ac is high?

It has never been an extremely close match. Again, it just seems to be the way of me.

Completely amazing.. hope I can get there too one day. Off to the vampires tomorrow morning for my next set of tests. Fingers crossed.

I was referring to the OP, it's his thread after all.
