My Journey although not ended yet I will have to change shortly to a different route. When I started this journey my blood sugar was averaging 18 to 19 my average now is around 5.

My weight was 16 Stone 3 Lbs it is now 12 Stone 2 Lbs my goal was 12 stone, which would just about get me into the right Bmi, now I am wondering would it be better for me to go to 11 stone 7 Lbs to put me more into the middle range of my Bmi?

On the LCHF lifestyle I was on 30 to 50 carbs a day and as you can see it worked brilliantly! Now I am wondering to put the brake on my weight loss and maintain my weight at 12 Stone or maybe 11 stone 7 Lbs what do I need to do? Thanks

It depends on what you think is right for you, your own personal choice.

I think you have done really well and congrats on that.

Hi you have done really well. I found it difficult to stop losing weight. I din't have as much weight to lose as you but I would suggest you try and slow down your weight lose if possible. My BMI went from 25 down to 19.6 when I got lectured at by my GP who thought I had taken it too far. A BMI of around 22 is considered ideal so try and watch you don't go too far below that. I tried to make sure any extra fats were good fats like avocados. I also added nuts for a while. Do keep checking your blood sugars if you start to try new foods. I found I could manage to eat a few more carbs but I do keep testing.

Viv - I recall when you arrived, and boy, you look so different now!

Well, I never tried to lose weight, but as I reduced my carbs, it happened. I didn't have much to lose, but like @Hiitsme , I also had a bit of a challenge to stop myself disappearing. As I trimmed though, I decided I'd like to give myself a bit of a BMI buffer zone, s didn't try to stop losing until I was well into the healthy ranges.

I don't know what your latest HbA1c is/was, and that would definitely influence thinking for me. We all probably know a bit about Professor Taylor's work, and his on the Personal Fat Threshold. If your most recent HbA1c is into the non-diabetic range, then it comes down to whether you feel you'd like a little buffer in the healthy weight range, and also how you feel about how you look and feel now. If your HbA1c is well down (which it really must be) but still in the diabetic range, I could be tempted to go for a few more pounds off.

At the end of the day, it really is a personal preference, but I'd suggest, as hiitsme has already said, to not wait until you're into a "I really, really don't want to lose any more weight" before you start trying to balance yourself out. It can be tricky! I've actually ended up very, very slight, but I'm a little person.

Good luck with it all. :)

Can I ask what you eat generally and how low your carb intake is?

Hi I tried to add you in myfittnesspal but it went wrong try again

What an incredible achievement! Well done!

Preventing weight loss is not something I have ever needed to do, but there are some great posters (Andbreathe being one) who have done so, whilst retaining their excellent HbA1cs, so it is definitely possible. I have seen people saying that adding in red wine and nuts is useful. What an ordeal, eh?

I strted slowly. Did my own diet. Started with 100g of carbs a day...for 1-2 month and as I got used slowly reduced it to 50g of carbs a day...Bg is now bellow 5, and I am underweight.
I did mild exercises in the evening for 15-20 min like dancing to all adverts on TV. Not all at ones...as they come on.
