Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.2 about an hour ago upon waking. Had my retinopathy examination A couple of weeks ago. Although I have worked hard to control my blood sugar so much so that I was taken off Metformin I have been told that I have early changes in my eyes. There was no damage last year. Can anyone explain this. I'm really disappointed and upset by this result
A sudden improvement in diabetic control can, paradoxically, increase retinopathy to start with. It's discussed here- http://www.diabeticretinopathy.org.uk/retinopathyprogression.htm

In the long term, however, that good control will reduce your risk of getting serious retinopathy.

Good morning all.

9.3 I was hoping for something much less. 7.9 two hours after dinner last night.
Sounds like liver and muscles holding onto glucose made from food, then releasing when not having food intake for longer hours than daytime ones. (Liver dump).
