GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING.

29/10 - Good Afternoon from a dull, bleak, overcast York. Hope you are all well and enjoying your day. :)

@Cumberland - How you doing Ian? Have you and your good Wife settled in your New Home?
Do you find being Type 1 any different to Type 2?
William:)

Aye we're getting settled in and sorted hopefully all work will be done by Christmas

As for type 1 I'm ok with that

After years of poor control I've had a good year in 2016 and got down to single figures the odd blip now and then but the DAFNE course in march and this forum has educated me and I feel better equipped than ever before

Hope you are not waiting too long to get your health sorted

Best wishes
Ian

@liam. Hi Liam, did you get your flu jab? You said you were having it, hope you fare better than me, been ill since I had it, fee like I've got razor blades in my throat, terrible chest, sneezing coughing the lot, just like last year, I will never ever have it again, over my dead body, using sugar free throat sweets which I never use, soup lemon drinks ect, but just seem to get worse, got to go hospital this week & next, both by taxi as they're to far & early appiontments, one is nearly £50 cost in taxi as so far from me, I had to chase them up, check up for eyes, months over due they said they were very busy but did find me an appiontment, anyway hope everyone is well, have good day & good luck getting house ready @Cumberland

Hi Arlene, it's great to see you back on the forum. Are you well? @amgrundy

Hi there, had my first ever flu jab last week (touch wood) no problem at all. I dont know how things work over in the UK, I have to have taxis to take me to hospital, over here in France as I am classed as long term illness all treatments, prescriptions and taxis to the hospital are free. I was just guessing things would be similar there?

Hi @ peterjones6000. Yeh last 2 years flu jab certainly made me I'll. Never have it again, my sister was ill after having it last year, & otheres I know but I do know people who haven't had any problems so hopefully you will be ok. Good luck, the eye hospital told me few years ago as I'm dissabled with eye disease & live so far my doctor can give me letter to cover taxi exspenses, I asked but was told no, in fact she Said its not the doctors place to pay for my transport!!! I was shocked, I got up &. Walked out, taxis are exspensive anytime but more so when on pension, anyway welcome & hope your well, sure you'll be ok with flu jab, have good day

@amgrundy - Hello Arlene :), Well Done on getting your HBA1C down to 43 = puts you almost in "normal" range below 42.
Looking forward to seeing you posting more. :)William x

Hello @maureen5752 - I had my Flu Vaccination last Monday and feel fine Thanks :). Is there no way that you can get taxi costs to the Hospital reimbursed? Go to Main Reception in the Hospital and ask for some advice on cost of travelling and point out you are a 'poor pensioner' and see what happens?
Sorry to hear that you are no better Maureen, if I lived much nearer I would definitely call round and check you were OK :D. :nurse:

@peterjones6000 Is it true that diabetics are 'signed off' in France? If so I am moving to France!!! :)

. Hi @ liam1955. Hi glad your ok, no joke never bought so many boxes Kleenex or lemons in my life, apparently with recent letter of proof of you are on any benifits you can get £3-30 last I heard, but that's if ever that department is open!!!! ! I phoned to push for check up cos I was due in June, noticed wobbly lines in my left eye past few weeks so maybe macular is advancing towards. 'Wet' so must get it checked out, I'll forgo that wisky for medicinal purposes that you suggested. Ha ha. I just hate paying such high prices for taxis. If appiontment was 15 mins later could have got train to brum then taxi rest of way, half the price. Still health more important, glad to hear your toe is improving, take care of yourself, & say hi to R. X. Thanks nurse Liam love the emojo.

Next time get that appointment 15 minutes later @maureen5752 (I used to be a Nurse, but it was a Psychiatric Nursing I did.)
Went this afternoon and had a Medication Review with my GP and 5 different tablets got stopped as from today, and 2 other tablets had their dosage cut by half too. So this in itself should have a good effect on my Liver. 2 different Pain Killers were temporarily suspended, but, only to take if I am in desperate Pain. GP says I will have to suffer with some pain - but not if it is crippling me, then I take Pain Killers.
Big Toe - Well all nicely healed and back to normal.:)
Off to get our Evening Meal - chat later. :)

Hi @ liam1955. It was the only appiontment they had otherwise it would have been mid December & need eyes checked, months overdue already, l only take pain killers if I really am in agony, don't like putting to much meds in my liver, glad toes ok. Liam enjoy your meal X

I wanted to have a good old catch up but shattered after one hectic, wonderful day. Too much treat rather than trick. I must have looked scary in my skull mask and pumkin coloured scarf eh? Of course the kids made more effort so they got more than me. Never been a sweet person but offer me chocolate and I'm anyones. Ha ha
Nite nite.

Been to see my doctor this morning she says I can try with diet and will see me in 6 months to see what happens didn't want to go on statins. x

An early good afternoon @amgrundy and @maureen5752 , @13lizanne and @Liam1955 . Not forgetting my 2 mates @eldergarth and @tina_marie . Not forgetting @debrasue and @PenfoldAPD if not too busy working. Oh and where is the hillarious new comer? Drum up the chaps and meet up here when you can. Are you all out xmas shopping yet?

And an early good afternoon (I'm also going to include evening) to you too.

I'm firmly engaged in online shopping right now. My wallet is having a panic attack.
