Hi @Loganmcneill1 Sorry you're unwell.

If you mean 'sick' as in vomiting, I've found sipping regular Coke or Pepsi can help keep sugars up if you don't fancy food. For the highs, I do correction doses as needed. I'm always very careful not to overdo them as sugars during vomiting/tummy bugs can be very erratic. I also sip water to keep hydrated.

Sadly sleep is hard to get when you're an ill Type 1. It's important to test your blood sugar regularly while your sugars are erratic, and that means setting alarms unfortunately. I know how much of a strain that is when you feel ill and just want to sleep, but it will help you in the long run.

Do also test for ketones if your sugars are high. That's very important.

If at any point you feel you're struggling or your blood sugar is too high, phone your DSN, doctor or 111 for advice.

Yes badly vomiting going very high then very low. I can't keep water down. I haven't ate in almost 24 hours

When you are this ill and you cant eat its all about the ketones...

you should be testing every two hours for BG and ketones....

depending on the ketone level you discover determines the amount of bolus you would give yourself.....

its usually 10% or 20& of your total daily dose from the previous day....

this is on top of your usual basal insulin and if you have managed to eat anything, a bolus for that...

trying to use these rules with no experience of dose adjustment wouldn't be wise so get some advice from your HCPs...
