Diabetic Craft Club

I don't understand yarn bombing at all! All the time spent that could knit up nice little projects that can keep!

Busy making a necklace tonight. Last weekend I was in Yorkshire helping my sister selling at a craft fair. We were approached by a lady from the RSPCA asking if we were interested in buying beads as they had been given the contents of a shop which had gone into liquidation. Monday found us in their stockrooms, going through 2 rooms worth of beads which the liquidators had deemed unsaleable. We bought about 1/1000 of the stock for a £50 donation ( a very good deal!) at which point they realised what they had been given. Anyway, the first beads were used today to make a winter colours kumihimo necklace which I am really pleased with.

Picture please. My friend had a go at kumihimo but don't think she stuck at it

Atttached.
The idea is snow with sun on it so you get different colours

@AnniB do you thread the beads before or after you twist the threads?

It's probably easiest to watch a video on u- tube -try CSL Designs or Simply Rotten Beads videos. You thread beads on 8 threads and the beads are woven on a disc. It is much easier than it sounds! It's the sort of thing you can do whilst watching TV. You start and finish by just weaving thread without beads and then glue on a catch. A bracelet takes a couple of hours and a necklace an evening. You get the best results with size 6 or size 8 beads. A good way of starting is to buy a kit through Beadaholique ( they are American but sell on Amazon) because the kits include absolutely everything that you need - disc, glue, beads, clasp and bobbins to keep the threads in order for not much money.

Question: is this a Colour combination only the Colour blind can come up with? Everyone who has seen it has frowned and said, "interesting Colours"

Hi. I wonder if someone can give me advise if they can. I'm thinking of trying needle felting. Has anybody tried this, if so, how easy is it? Thank you in advance
