I've been diabetic (t1) since 4 years now, and have been on injections (Apidra) since then. I know a lot of people who have recently been diagnosed and they have all been on injections and are now on pump.

I was just wondering if there are more benefits of being on a pump rather than injections?

Thankyou.

Depends in your life style and your personality...

Pumps need more testing and altering initially.
Some pumps are "visible" some can be made "invisible". (I hate being noticed as 'different').....

If you areba rugby player or keen sports person pumps could be less good, or better.. depending upon the sport. Ie a cross channel swimmer would have to remove it, a horse eacer would love it.

It depends upon the persons lifestyle and personality foremost but also whether they meet
The NICE criteria..

I'm a keen rugby and netball player so that's why I was thinking about it!
That helps me a lot! Thanks for the advice :)

Hi @Llinz04
I started pumping 14 months ago after 43 years on injections ---------best change I have made since being D :)

(I have Tandem t:slim G4 Insulin pump, so think about that when reading this) In my opinion, I think there are so many good things about getting a pump rather than injections because first, you don't have to poke your self as much and you can just enter in the amount of insulin you need to take. You don't have to have a certain amount of units, it can be a specific amount. Also, with the pump that I have (Tandem, t:slim G4), I can connect it to my Dexcom and it can show me my glucose at that moment. Hope this helps. : )

Also, your profile pic is sooo pretty! Why can't I be that pretty?
