GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING.

A tired totty today and very swollen. Swollen forarms where the vampires have been.
I keep having reoccuring water bed tummy.
Shame there isn't an opposite eh?

I'm going to read about magnesium in details this evening. I'm very interested. How did you get on with the subject @debrasue ?

I fell by the wayside, I'm afraid, Vicky. Got sidetracked and then forgot about it. :sorry:

Hi @maureen5752 - I wasn't 'officially' put back onto the Standard Metformin! I put myself back on the Standard Metformin as I only had one month's trial on the SR version of Metformin to try, and they finished 2 weeks. But have got appointment to see the Surgery practise Diabetes Nurse for 22nd December.
I feel so much better since coming off the Morphine - it helped with the severe pain in my back, but made me feel like a Zombie! Felt a wee bit "detached" from life. Thank You for your kind words. Liam1955

@Liam1955. Hi Liam glad your starting to feel better, I put myself back on bog standard but ended up having disagreement with DN/doctor & they don't really know what I'm taking now, they gave conflicting advice, bog does bother my tummy & sleep problems & flushes but bgs slightly lower, I was getting adjusted to SR but had to be realy be careful with food cos of elevated bgs, but sleep & tummy was so much better, now I'm having difficulty getting DN to call me to get repeat prescription for meds, maybe I'm wrong but think slightly lower bgs even with othere side effects are better, hope you get well soon. Regards to R x

Hello @maureen5752 - Surely if the Standard Metformin is giving you lower Blood Sugars than the SR Version, then you would think the Doctor and Diabetes Nurse would keep on prescribing the Standard? You need to put this point across to them both.
(Being on the standard Metformin is cheaper than on the SR version).
R is out in the garden and will be there - even when it gets dark. I just ring him on his mobile phone 3 times and he knows there is a coffee waiting for him in the hallway. He is avoiding me because I am Mr. Grumpy after yesterday's outing doing shopping, and buying last minute Christmas gifts, and me today in much pain. Of course I blamed him! :D

. DN thinks bog standard may cause me hypos!! Ridiculous. Last hbc1a was 5.8%. 40mmol, been told not to go any lower. sorry your still in so much pain, hopefully soon you will get well, hope so. I've not done any Xmas food shopping yet, still got couple pressents to buy, I hate the crowds pushing & shoving, understand how you feel, I'm sure your not crumpy, go make R a nice coffee, have a good evening both x

Hey @maureen5752 that is a brilliant HBA1C = Well Done You:happy:. Dr and DN both ought to be 'over the moon' with your results. It is possible that some people could have their dosage of Metformin reduced to avoid the possibility of going to low? (Notice I am picking my words carefully - for the mods!) I won't go into a crowded shop - we have a lot of rude Tourists visiting York all year round and they leave their manners/personality at home!! ( And some their Brains!)
I have just sat down with a coffee - have baked in the oven R & I a dish of Creamed Sago with grated Nutmeg on the top. (Used Splenda as alternative to sugar) so when I've drank coffee and had a look on here, will go and slave in the Kitchen with my 'broken' Back!:D:D. R is busy making Christmas Wreaths for the front door - and 1 for his Parents and also Daughter/Hubby.

Mmmm, I haven't had sago for donkeys' years! How is it on the carb stakes?

Yes, I can see why you rated my question 'optimistic', @Liam1955 .... 94g of carbs per 100g of sago!!!!!

Tragic.........

@debrasue I was just looking it up on the Internet. Oh well, looks like a very small portion for me? (I used 200gram of Sago Pearls - But Splenda artificial Sugar)

It feels wrong to post this in the what have you eaten thread ......

Was at my parents for our family Christmas meal today.

I had a mince pie, roast potatoes, stuffing, a little bit of Christmas pud and brandy sauce :)

I'll be high tomorrow but it was worth it. I didn't go crazy. I enjoyed myself and obviously enjoyed I think with lashing of red wine :)

Sometimes it's good to kick back!

Yes they are my wife makes them for me for nibbles only coconut egg white to bind add a little stevia to the mix to sweeten a little if you wish and bake till golden .doesn't affect my BG to much as long as don't go mad and eat them all lol

@Liam1955 morning Liam everyone, yes I'm going to my daughters Xmas day, I'm paying for turkey ect to try help them out, take few bits with me but pity I can't eat the 'bits'. DN & doctor are trying to increase my metformin & stop my gliclazide, then. As I said they stop my strips, I tried half & one extra metformin as they said and had very bad hypo & sugars were 7.7! So no extra metformin for me. I've asked to see a dieting & go on course but refused, won't say on here exact response I got, last hbc1a was 40mmol as I said & previous two were 41mmol yet when I return from abroad bgs was 24.3. Don't know what that is in mmol but they immediately gave me strips & meds, I've worked hard to get it down, I can't swim, walk much or exercise yet I feel I'm not getting any help or advice, done it all myself with great thanks to everyone here on the forum, learnt so much from you great people. Thanks, couldn't have done it without you all. Liam Ron said he's good with 'rats' perhaps he could come to York & get rid of all the rude tourists??? X
