i have read cold weather can effect insulin doses. I'm doubling mine and still trending higher.
Normal?

I also added a little more protein but never more than 3 oz per meal. I wouldn't think this would require a split bolus?

I've had to increase my basal during the last few weeks. I presume it's due to the colder weather, but I'm not sure.

I find my basal fluctuates over the year, as do my meal ratios. That's the fun of Type 1! (Not!)

my basal rates( pump ) increased about 6 weeks ago due to colder weather ( I think )
have increased testing a bit too to ensure potential highs are corrected earlier too

Yes they can - every year around Oct-Nov I struggle with my basal levels and I have to steadily increase my doses to get back into single figures again, takes a month or 2 to settle down and it's a real pain. Have considered moving abroad to a warmer country but love the NHS too much !

I'm afraid to up basal at 80 before bed but keep waking up around 115. I'm going to up it tonight and set an alarm for 4 hours. I have increased testing to head off highs too. Fingers are sore. Haha. I'm sure you can relate.

Joys of type one...

Mine does too. Sometimes drops me 20 and sometimes raises me 20. Never know what I'm going to get. Most annoying. If it raises me I'm constantly injecting until lunch to get it straight. Not too much, but not too little....you know the drill.
