Ok so I've not eaten for 5 hours and I've had about 3 mouthfuls of lemon n barley drink I'm shakey heart racing do a bs test an I'm 16.5...
Truly I wonder about this illness... and if we ever have a clue really. Hands up in air ....

If you get a high reading, it's always best to re-test just to be sure it's accurate before you correct.

If you hadn't eaten, then it would be interesting to know what your BS had been before this ie in the hours after you had previously eaten. This might give a clue as to the cause.

Yeah, if I get an unexpected reading that seems a bit off, I'll re-test 2 more times. I find when you get an incorrect reading, it's way off. Having 3 readings might seem a bit excessive, if there are 2 readings that are closely matched and one that is no where near them, then it's pretty obvious that first odd one is wrong.
 
I'm getting really hard from tomorrow. I have been a bit carefree over xmas new years an also I suppose I thought why not while I can get away with it an not get sick quick dka etc as I still have is it beta cells. But I do see that it takes you out of a healthy eating routine an when bs go high you crave bad things an a viscous circle begins. I am also on a vapor giving up smoking an no coke cept coke zero maybe . I have my pump app Feb 22nd so I need to be in a tight healthy routine... so veges meat fish eggs and small amounts of brown rice pasta in very tiny amounts. I'm going to try not too eat bread ... that's my love. Tho I found a recipe for oopsie bread. Have you tried this????
 
No, I haven't tried Oopsie bread but I've heard of it. If you find that certain foods and drinks are your weakness, it might be easier not to have them or swap them for something less appealing. There are certain biscuits I just don't have in the house because I find it hard to resist them. So I swapped to a less exciting biscuit. Sounds sad, but it worked for me.

Hopefully, you'll find that having a routine of healthy meals will help stop the cravings. I find erratic eating makes me hungry and I start craving all kinds of things I wouldn't normally.

You should be ok with small amounts of rice and pasta. Just make sure you bolus for them correctly.

Thanks @azure. Yes I'm actually really excited about it. I've done alot of reading an research and I'm sort of excited to challenge myself this year re great hba1c and more excersise too. It's crazy not too put the effort in for yourself and a healthier future. I'm so glad I stumbled across this site. It's really helpful and supportive. Yes I'm not buying coke cans anymore for my hypos. It's aeroplane lollies.

You have posted in the Type 1 forum but your profile says you are Type 2 on metformin..
We use the info in your profile to help you out so if it's not correct then we can possibly give mis advice.
Could you clarify what you have just so we can be sure?

I can't seem to change it. There is no options for me to do so. I'm type 1 on lantus 9 morning 9 night and on novorapid I should be on a pump by end of Feb. I still have some beta cells things going I think it was a test that said 320 can't yhink what it was gad or c peptide. Think c peptide the other said I'm type 1. Was diagnosed in June I think as was type 2 for over a year an a half

To change your details
Click on your profile at the top of the page.
Hover over the picture and you should get a list of options
Click on personal details
This should then allow you to edit your details and make corrections.

All it says is gallery or camera when I go over my picture

Click on your tiny avatar pic right up at the top of the page on the right hand side. It's tiny and near your PM envelope.
 
Then you can follow @bulkbiker 's instructions. When you click that tiny pic, you'll see a list of things, including Personal Details.

It says home messages register etc going down nothing on right side atall. An left side is my picture.

Oh, yes, it might do.

And I'm sure you're not losing it : D

It could be that you need to be on a computer to change your details. If you're using the mobile version of the site on your phone, you could try using the full website version and see if that works for you.
