Hey guys and gals.
My GF is adding me to her insurence policy through Apple so we can go off and see a few sites around Peru and one of the questions is am I officially Disabled. Do we fall under this bracket of being officially Disabled?!
Cheers guys.

Diabetes of itself is not a disablement, but you must let your insurers know.

Read the wording carefully, but @novorapidboi26 is right in saying we're covered by the Equality Act as Type 1 counts as a disability in that context.

I don't thing there is such a thing as "officially disabled" you need to check the insurance policy wording and see if they define that "officially disabled" is.

Type 1 is a disability under the equality act, but that's only if your relying on the equality act protections from discrimination. The equality act definition of disability doesn't apply any wider than the act itself.
