Diet Doctor Low Carb Challenge

Good job you told me because, even though I've got it as a watch thread, the forum isn't sending or giving me alerts.

You talk about your liver like I do - like its got a really annoying personality of it's own.

Yep! That's my liver. At least its secret world isn't quite so secret now. Aqua was quite a performance though and I don't think they would have accepted my 3 day old sensor at the bottom of the pool as being 'faulty' . The Boots version is holding its own.

I wish I could go swimming....... :(

Its interesting how your BG rises steeply. Have you experimented with eating as soon as you get up to see how that affects it?

After the Aqua issues with Nana's secret sugar thingy nice to have 2 arms I can use for cooking. BG was higher this morning at 7.9 which I discovered was thanks to a 5am visit to the loo. I guess I could always cook and eat breakfast at 5am to arrest DP?
B. 2 scrambled eggs and 2 rashers crispy bacon. 2 chestnut mushrooms and 3 Vittoria tomatoes. Also added some spiralised courgetti.
L. Cornish cove mini and 1/2 M&S cracked black pepper calamari.
D. Diet Doctor cheese stuffed chicken breast with steamed greens

That looks very yummy. Hungry now.

5am might be a bit early - although someone (sorry, can't remember who) in the 'what have you eaten today' thread made herself an omelette in the wee small hours recently. :)

Not yet but that's Easter break now so I'll have a chance now.

Try Tom Kerridge moussaka. Just divine. The whole family enjoyed it. Makes 6 servings and 16 carbs per serving. He also has a white radish lasagne. I have yet to try it, but all the recipes I have made out of his book have been tasty x

Saw that book in the Works the other night - had a flick through but the recipes seemed quite high (relatively speaking) in carbs

I couldn't face breakfast at 4.30 this morning, which was when I woke up with various joints hurting - it must be going to rain today or tomorrow.

Knees permitting, I think today will be a some gentle 'retail therapy' then watching Mr Chook cook dinner (aka wrecking the kitchen).

I know @Brunneria has shopping delivered but I'm not sure about you @maglil55 ? Anyway, yesterday I had my big delivery - loads of stuff loose and some bagged. It wasn't until I was unpacking the pre-packed bags (with some meat in) that I found a 64 pack of Finish Quantum dishwasher tablets that I hadn't ordered and weren't a sub for something that I had ordered. Mr C thinks I've got a screw loose because I phoned them up to tell them. What do you think? Would it be stealing to just keep them? As it happens they told me to keep them.

I've rung before if we have something extra - they always sound surprised that I've done so

We ring them quickly enough if we are missing an item from the order, so it is only fair to tell them about an unexpected extra :)

Nice of them to gift the Finish to you though. Probably more effort to collect them than to give them away.

We have always found the telephone customer services excellent. And there was one day (new delivery driver) when we only got 3 crates. Unpacked and MASSES of the order was missing. Straight on phone to query it - just as there was a knock on the door - mr Delivery had found our remaining 2 crates and rushed back asap, most apologetically. Really can't fault them!

Anyone done the cauliflower cheese recipe? Looks like you blend the broccoli with the cheese and then use that as the sauce - the picture doesn't look particularly green but I have visions of an unappetising green topped dish ...

No, I haven't - I love cauliflower cheese but, like you, I don't like the idea of a green sauce. I suppose you could do similar but using extra cauliflower instead of the broccoli.

I usually cheat - I half cook (steam or microwave) the cauliflower put in buttered dish then mix double cream with lots of grated cheese, spoon over the cauliflower and then dump yet more cheese on top and bake until golden. I've also done this with sour cream, part double cream/part cream cheese and also have added cooked bacon bits and/or chopped jalapenos in to it.

We had these for breakfast:

Made a slight error though... accidentally made enough for 4 people, not 2, without realising.
The portions did look a wee bit big, but I'm never one to turn down food.

Now we are sprawled around like dormice before hibernation.

Nice though, although a bit more phaff than I like to go through for breakfast...

Mr C made something similar (could have been them actually) for a pud when I first started DD and I found them a bit too coconuty for me on their own so he made a hot chocolate/double cream sauce. Tasted like bounty bars.

I always confess to and as you say they normally just say to keep whatever it is. I get the shopping delivered sometimes other times I go depends what I'm after as I get some weird substitutes.

I can only assume the cream cheese and the cream is 'diluting' the green of the broccoli. They are definitely using it as a thickness for the sauce.

Well that was odd. Went to bed on 6.3 and got up to FBG of 7.7. OK that's fine. Pre breakfast 7.3. These are finger pricks not Libre (although Libre reading 0.2 under them). Still had the overnight dip but it was a bit later. About 3,30 am. Went to bed earlier last night as I was really tired and had a lie in as it's Sunday. Need to have a close look at what went on last night.
Had an omelette for breakfast but it's just my usual in omelette form.
