Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
I checked back and others have already been there, but I've just tried my first pack of Explore Cuisine Organic Edamame (green soybeans) and Mung Bean Fettuccine.

200g pack and 11.3 g carbs per 100g.

Boiled, drained and then tossed in butter, olive oil and black pepper. To die for!

A very pasta like experience; so nice I could have eaten all the pasta on its own without the sauce and grated cheese.

Expensive at £3 a pack (currently on offer at Asda at £2 a pack) but one pack will feed 2-3 people (or even more if you are feeling frugal) so not too bad.

I managed to stop myself eating it all :-) So a worthy addition to the larder and pasta is back on the menu.

Ooo! That sounds lovely! I have really missed pasta so will have a look for this :) Thank you!

Thanks for the heads up, will do some looking for it and see how we go.
Cheers
:)

I remember posting about this past a few weeks ago. I have not tried it yet but will do soon I will have 50 grams mixed with courgette spiralized and minced beef

I have been eating a small portion of reheated pasta ala Micheal Mosely television show.

A bit of trial and error on the portion size has given me good bgl results.

OMG Carbonara is back on the menu! :):p:happy:
Just looked on Tesco.com, they have it too, plus some Edamame spaghetti and black bean spaghetti with slightly higher carb counts.
EDIT Sorry, forgetting my manners, thank you so much for posting this!

I bought these about a month ago, mainly for my youngest who likes pasta. I have had little interest myself as I like cauliflower. I will give this a small go but it will not major for me.

massive tater off Beaumont leys market tin of harry Marsden's peas and Iceland meat thing stuck on top oh dear my tum hurts I need a dam good full on try not wake next doors fart x

just had a look at the Tesco one and it appears to have more fibre than carbohydrates..... how does that work?

Going to see if I can find it this morning
:)

In the UK they break carbohydrates into fibre (which doesn't get absorbed) and other carbohydrates (which do).

I understand that in some other countries (e.g. USA) they quote the total carbohydrates including fibre so if you are cab counting you have to find a figure for the fibre content and then subtract that from the total.

Thanks, @LittleGreyCat.

This looks exciting. Just ordered some from Amazon and looking forward to receiving them.

Cooking from scratch every day isn't always easy and it would be nice to have an easy go to option.

I have a question for you (or anyone else who has tried these). Did anyone measure their blood sugars after having them?

I have not eaten these pasta products, but that baggie of pasta spirals in post #5 of mine I had for dinner last night with a meat sauce.

Before dinner my bgl was 5.3 and two hours later was 5.9, this mornings fast bgl was 5.9 as well.

Thanks so much for the info, @Tipetoo. This gives me a lot more confidence to actually try the pasta. Admittedly, I am sometimes a bit chicken to try new things.

It was a bit of trial and error getting the portion size right, I got it to just two flat scoops of spiral pasta with those pasta ladle thingies.
