Hi, Been type 1 for 30 yrs. On pump last 5 yrs .HBA1C 7.2
Ive always been active on a daily basis. Don't like to sit around much. Im a painter /decorator part time. Diagnosed with anxiety/depression and taking medication. Low carb diet and healthy plant based but not veggie
Last 2 months extremely low energy levels and exhausted nearly every day. I work for a few hours and I feel done in. Its a real e
effort physically to do any activity gym classes yoga etc. I don't drink alcohol (13yrs now) and don't smoke
Is this due to fluctuating BG's ,depression . Is it all catching up with me ??
Off to the GP again today to have another chat
Thanks
Kev

I feel the same. I’m not anxious or depressed.
I never thought about the fluctuating bg levels. Mine are very much up and down

There has been a decreased amount of sunlight in certain parts of the world - where I live we have gone from 15 hours of sun light to 9 hours of sun light and becoming less and less each day. I tend to feel really draggy and exhausted this time of year and for me there appears to be a trend of how I feel and the amount of sun exposure I get (along with the reduction of activity that goes along with that). Could this also be a contributing factor for you @Kev Goodgroove and @Omnipod ? Just a thought ....

Could it be something like a thyroid issue...?.....

@Omnipod, are you not on the pump anymore?

Hi
No
I just use the freestyle liibre and a pen.
It’s easier and less hassle than the pump. Having the pump you still got to bolus etc and have it attached 247
Easier to carry a pen in my 1 pocket and my libre in the other

Not really. I found it a bit of a pain to be honest.
With the libre, I just keep scanning whenever I need and based on the arrows I inject small doses.
The pump always beeped and I kept having to adjust. I find mdi much easier and my hba1c is still between 7 and 8

That's a shame....were you clued up with dose adjustment before the pump....

Do you get better control just constantly correcting...?

Has your doc arranged to have full blood tests done?
They dont take long so it could be thyroid, d3 etc..

Other meds can cause fatigue.. as much as they can treat one problem they can throw other problems in to the equation like fatigue/depression...

It is important though to have a whole range of vitamins / minsrals in your nutrients in your food as this again can cause fatigue..

Hopefully doc will check bloods and find something low that can easily be corrected.

Dont forget though that depression can also create a variation of tiredness..

Beta blockers for high BP exhausted me and completey depressed me. As they block your cortisol and adrenaline.

Lisinapril did as well. Losartan does not at all.

i was diagnosed with b12 deficiency when i was really tired, then years, low thyroid and then iron and d3 deficient. fast forward 5 years and i feel more energetic than i did in my twenties! i take a lot of supplements and eat healthier. t1 33 yrs. good luck

Some meds if you are taking them for depression can also impact on tiredness. Do check the side effects of any meds you are taking and go to GP if necessary and ask whether any alternatives are possible? (Depends whether the balance for anxiety/depression are better than the tiredness though.

It may well be that you are just simply worn out??
