Hyperinsulinemia and high blood pressure

Hi,
It is estimated well over half of the US population has hyperinsulinemia and many have obesity and high blood pressure as a result. The same is true in many nations. This is a precursor to T2D with all its problems from a mainly diet driven disease.

Recent papers in scientific journals indicate these high insulin levels work into the Renin/angiotensin/aldosterone system constricting arteries, retaining sodium and putting up BP amongst other damage to CV system, even causing bph in men.

See article by Wolfgang Klopp may 8 this year in Sage publication.
It looks like those of us with more than the normal insulin in our bodies should be on an ARB for bp and preventing damage to our bodies.

But we all know going keto or low carb is a good way to stop hyperinsulinemia at its source!
regards
Derek

i would add the caveat that I presented with low blood pressure and normal cholesterol, and i am morbidly obese (all around my tummy, very little fat anywhere else)

This has been known for years among researchers...but it seems there is no effective medication to lower insulin...so there is no interest to confront the issue...except in recent years thru the low carb movement...

Hi Lu,
You appear to be what Kendrick calls a Black Swan! :)
Apparently it rectifies the problem before we lose weight, hyperinsulinemia stops when low carb, and BP, for those with BP problems, drops straight away because the RAAS stops being triggered.
