Morning everyone, just caught up on the thread (I tend not to 'forum' at the weekend) so I missed a wedding and a ABBA love in amongst other things!?:wideyed: Weekend has been good, Saturday went to Blenheim flower show - bought a lot of plants - and BBQ in the evening, Sunday usual full english brekkie, planted all the plants, mowed the lawn all in time to sit down and watch the footie followed by the F1, then cook dinner (first of the new home grown potatoes) - and no major highs or low BGs all weekend! (in this heat expected to go low but didn't - I had planned ahead and knocked back on the insulin :p)

A lot going on the next few days at work :sour:

ive just had a letter to go to a pump clinic but im a bit nervous .consultant said it would give me much tighter control .it just puts me off about sleeping with it on and it coming undone when im asleep im a worrier like that but goodluck and i hope you get yours :)

Hi Karen - don't worry about sleep, they are pretty comfortable to wear in sleep, I roll about alot so keep mine in a pump belt which keeps it snug, only times it's woken me up is when the battery alarm has gone off, and have never had it come loose in sleep since I started on it over 2 years ago :)

Don't be nervous, it's a game changer, I felt nervous as it was a step into the unknown but I was keen to improve my control and knew this would help massively, it took a while to bed in with the adjustments but I honestly think it was the best decision I ever made in my diabetes management, I would never hand it back now :)

9.8 I don’t feel rough or unwell so I’m fine with this number

Blazing hot outside

A busy week ahead

2 dentists appointments and. Hospital appointment

Have a good day fellow T1s

Morning all.

Weekends are always difficult, - this weekend average to poor, i did have a 19.4 briefly, but brought it straight back into line. Booze makes control much more difficult but i think everyone knows that already.

Woke up on a 5.0 this morning moving up to an 8.9 by the time i had my breakfast.

I had zero interest in a pump up until around 4-5 months ago! I had looked into them around 15-20 years ago and the thought of them scared the buggery out of me lol. BUT after 46 years of injections I have had enough of them AND with the hypo unawareness as well I am really pushing for 1 after my dietitian mention it earlier on in the year

Morning everyone, just, still. Blood sugars have been ok, over the weekend, by which I mean, freestyle libre ok, if I was still relying solely on fingerpricking tests, I would have been quite pleased. It's raised my expectations massively. Trouble is it seems to have taken over my life. I've only had it a few months, but I can see how much the very high's have reduced, and the very lows, which seems to me to be a good enough justification for everyone who needs one to have one, that I can think of.

I don't know if I like the idea of a pump. I don't think they'd give me one anyway, spending too long looking at freestyle libre isn't anywhere in the criteria. But I think, it's good, if you've made the decision to do it, to go ahead. Be good to hear what the experience is like.

It's afternoon now, good afternoon everyone. Lunch. :)

I'm hovering at 5.2 for lunch thanks to 2g dextrotabs for the bolus tail, running on Lantus now and am eating 9g carbs as in a slice of wholemeal bread, with a tin of tuna, I'm only going to do an hour and a half this aft as the sun will get me :)

Window cleaners nightmare, hot glass and the windows drying up fast meaning you're working harder, the libre comes into its own at times like these compared with the blood testing as was...

I always feel sorry for window cleaners because if they don't clean your windows they don't get paid.
Obvious I know but heavy rain is as dangerous as snow and hot weather brings its own trouble as you mentioned.
One of ours is a type 1 funnily enough and I do make the 3 of them a brew if I'm in.

Good luck

Tony

Good evening all.
It's been a hot 'un and isn't showing any signs of cooling down to soon.
Not had to bad a day. A bit of a blip at work. Scheduled for a break at around 10.45 so I pre bolused at 10.15 then don't you know it the schedule went out of the window with a faulty product at 10.20. Break was now going to be 11.30 ish after a machine strip down. I knew I could just about make it to 11.30 if I had a few glucotabs to tide me over. Sure enough at 11.30 I was still upright but very very hungry ( 3.9 on the dexcom). No problems, I sat down and had my pack up, but then my mind wandered, if I'm low and I've pre bolused for my snack then chances are I'm going to stay low. What if I just paid a little visit to the snack machine. Suffice to say those little 6 packs of square chocolate biscuits ( SNACK) are blooming moreish.
All this resulted in a 13 ar 2.00pm.
Worked harder at the gym to try to make myself feel better and not such a weakling for giving into temptation :).
@slip feel free to join the ABBA love in. Unfortunately Agnetha is spoken for as is Anni-Frid. I also think someone showed an interest in Bjorn. That leaves you and Benny:) :).

Evening all! Just got home from that London to find the Rhondda baking hot as well. Quite a shock when I got out of my Ford Fridge...Running high all afternoon following a goodish morning but didn’t dare risk over correction on the road so was v cautious with the Novorapid.

Stay safe in the heat, friends xxx

I’m not sharing Agnetha she’s all mine

A bit quiet around here tonight. Hope everyone is ok and just struggling with the heat.
Sitting at 9.3, amazingly dexcom on day 24 is still as close as can be with finger prick.
A small correction and I'll see where that leads.

I'll say goodnight to you all.
Until tomorrow :hilarious:
