Type 1'stars R Us

So awake at 5am with a hypo. Upped my basal 1 unit yesterday after a week of continual highs. Typical! Need myself on an even keel as it is ‘In Bloom’ judging today and I have a ton of watering and titivating to do in the village with the group. Judges arrive at midday.
After that if the plants die so be it, the last fortnight in this heat has been a struggle. Off camping tomorrow for a few days, whoop! Love retirement!

Hi @kitedoc I get hungry when 12+ and not processing my excess glucose efficiently, however if I was hungry at around 9, then it just could be that I need food I can't think of a diabetes reason for it, it's easy to over think on diabetic reasons.

Thought I'd cracked my nighttime hypo cycle as I woke yesterday at 4.6, this morning I was 3.7, so a tad more basal adjusting required, or maybe it was the 3 hours I spent weeding the front drive last night

Good morning everyone, hope those of you at work today have a cool spot to keep your insulin. 5.3 on the new sensor this morning, which seems to have settled on 1 above BG readings so that’s 4.3 in old money. 0.5u at 5 in the am as seemed to be rising and it seems to have worked out ok. Now waiting to see if DP’s going to strike.

Morning.

Went out for a Thai meal last night with friends, got home and hypo-tastic (butt monkies :bag: ) so maybe there was simply less carb in that meal than I thought :bookworm:

Woke this morning with this Libre thing pointing upwwars like and Elon Musk rocket :pompous: but mange to catch before it got stupidly high and now back to a more "normal" :) level.

Monday? just so wrong on so many levels.

Oh and as a side thing Morris Dancing? whats that all about? :wacky:

So is it going to land itself upright and on target? :nailbiting:

8.3 this morning, yesterday wasn't brilliant BG wise, so today is another day!

Good luck @therower, my clinic appointment was cancelled again, now scheduled for September........odd thing was consultant called me the other day about my query of getting the medtrum A6 sensor data to them and when he left a answer phone message said he'd speak to me anyway in July at my next appointment..........this was at least a week after I received a letter telling me it was cancelled, so the consultant didn't even know?

Morning all. Well woke up with a 10 this morning, small correction with breakfast and all should be fine :S .
Scanned the Libre in the middle of the night and was 11.1 and really didn't think anything of it....probably still half asleep.
Just sent an email to the dietitian concerning last weeks pump meeting as I still haven't heard anything and have no nails left lol, so may know something later on today

Morning all! Woke up with a hypo for the third morning running, can’t even blame the wine as I had a dry night last night. Probably the heat, I’ve dropped my Tresiba dose by half a unit, so that’ll probably not take effect until a week next Thursday *rolls eyes*.

In other news, I’m pleased with the accuracy of this sensor and the MiaoMiao :)

Seeing my GP this morning to find out for definite if it’s asthma. I’ve been taking a steroid inhaler for four weeks now and not needed the emergency Ventolin one, so I guess it probably is. Ugh.

Hope you can all stay cool and hydrated in the sun (was going to write “moist” but thought I’d best not!) this week x

I find that Thai and Indian meals seem to cause later peaks in BSLS than other meals. I wonder if your pm short-acting insulin pushed the suagr down and then the blood sugar rose both as a consequence of rebound from the low reading and the carbs coming in later than expected from the Thai meal ?

Yeah fair point.

Pasta usually does that, eat at 7:00 then the pasta will hit about 12:00 or there abouts.

I just miscalculated really did not have alot of rice and the lamb black pepper stir fry was proably more sugary than I thought, add in the prawn crakers, seaweed and veggie spring rolls (shared around 4 of us), never mind, live and learn :)

Indian and Chinese meals usually no problem as I am aware that the suger/carb/high BS etc etc etc will hit way later.

Up at 5, was wondering whether getting up an hour earlier would beat my dawn rise - but no, went to bed on 6 and woke up on 8. Usually fall off a cliff in the morning, but today we seem to be rocking high figures and I'm a 10 just before 2nd breakfast.

Think its going to be 30 degrees here today, so will take it gently with the novorapid because its zapped me a few times over the weekend and I'm running out of haribos.

Pretty good reading from your Libre @Mel dCP
Just had an answer from the dietitian. Good(ish) news. I have been provisionally approved for a pump BUT now have to wait for an appointment with the Pump Dr and the DSN. Already had 1 appointment cancelled with the Dr so heres hoping for a new appointment comes through soon :)

Morning everyone,

Managed to stay within range overnight, and this morning, the details aren't very interesting, a bit too much micro management. I think Freestyle Libre might be putting me in touch with my inner control freak, which I always thought was there. But it's ok, it doesn't harm anyone but me.

That's good. Now you just have to manoeuvre your way around the obstacle course..........
