That's good. Now you just have to manoeuvre your way around the obstacle course..........

Hehe.... VERY true. I was moved to the pump Dr a few months ago BUT the appointment was cancelled and believe it or not I have not seen a DSN for over 10 years!! BUT it is going in the right direction

I saw that post & it's made me blast a Stone Roses CD loud as I get ready for work :) it's a happier Monday now :)
Glad to have helped your Monday be a happier one :)

@porl69 - does your lack of hypo awareness cause any issues on the driving licence front?

Oh, in other news, I’ve definitely got asthma. Dr Miller agrees with me that my immune system actually hates me :sour: But we’re doing bloods to see if my antibodies still react to meat and dairy with the steroid inhaler I’m now stuck with on board. He agreed that it’s limiting my food choices ridiculously because of my low carb diet. Absolutely no hint of a suggestion that I should increase my carb intake instead, either.

But we did have a chat about my taking the pregabalin capsules I’m allergic to. Apparently the liquid stuff I have instead costs thousands a month because it’s a “special” from the manufacturer. He’s asked if I’d be willing to use the gelatin capsules but break them open and dissolve in water as it only costs £60 a month for that. I’m happy with that, I wasn’t sure if the capsule made it slow release or something but it doesn’t. So I’m cool with that. One of his close relatives does the same on his recommendation.

Oh goodness. I’m so sorry to hear that. Was it the hypo awareness that lost it or the eyesight?

Eyesight lost it for me. BUT I am sure even if I had 2 eyes I would have lost it due to being hypo unaware! Its my own fault for being a total fool with my diabetes for so long in my twenties (and thirties!).

Working in a garage is super impressive.

Just a receptionist mind. Drive the customers cars (in the yard) back to the reception. Pretty tight spaces as well :)

Afternoon - hope you all had a good weekend!

Out of the blue I've been sent a prescription for 4 Libre sensors in the post by my consultant so that's a positive start to the week. I can only assume it's because I'll be going through DAFNE next week. I'll be off to the pharmacy to get them ordered in after work. Does anyone know that has Blucon/Xdrip - can you use it with the standard Libre app/reader too or is it one or the other?

Last few days have been OK numbers wise - managed to avoid a hypo on Saturday evening by feeling the shakes in the mid 4s after I got in from a walk. One high (over 18 :hungover:) yesterday afternoon that I can't put my finger on as I'd only had carbs from beans late morning (cooked breakfast with no bread involved) but it came down nicely in range with dinner and another evening walk of a few miles. :headphone:

Congrats on get the Libre on prescription. I use just the LibreLink app with mine, start it with the reader then within the hour warm up I use my phone with the LibreLink app. I then get the LibreLink to upload the results to Diasend automatically :)

!!.30 pm here in Oz. In deficit for beauty sleep so will turn in. G'night !!

Thought for the day (as posed elsewhere too):
Don't put all your eggs in the one basket VS You can put all your eggs in the blender (just remember to take the shells off first)

Good evening folks. Another lovely day on the costa del easty midlano.
6 monthly check up ( 7 months since last one :) NHS calendar :banghead::banghead:) went good.
HbA1C at an all time low. Thank you to all at Dexcom.
Everything else absolutely fine, except cholesterol ldl at 1.4. Must be the Double Gloucester cheese;);). I'll cut it down to one block a week and see what happens.
Lost a bit of weight as well. 90 kg of mean, lean .........well 90kg of something.
@slip I think I'm quite fortunate that we have an exceptional diabetes centre in Leicester. Appointments do get moved, but usually only a few weeks. It is annoying though.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Lots of walking & water today so BG levels have behaved themselves.

A fairly low carb day (so far..).

Hoping I can sleep in range so I can wake up in range (& not high like today) so I can do some basal testing tomorrow

First sensor I have knocked out of my arm . Abott are replacing it but I am at the annoying 24 hours if a inaccurate (new) sensor stage.

Other than that... a pretty awesome Monday :)

I'm seen at the General nowadays. Sadly large parts of the hospital are dated. The diabetes centre downstairs is very impressive . I have yet to get to see upstairs but I'll take your word on it.:)

They're always keen to show folks around. There's even a specialist gym, for monitoring exercise for those on trials.

Oh, and well done on your best ever A1c. CGMs really can be game-changers, but of course, you have to use the data.
