Diabetics R Us

Morning all

Another warm night but I slept quite well.
We are having to take our lovely big tree down in the front garden 'cos it's rotting at the base, Alan made a start on it yesterday.
Glad you had a good birthday @Cumberland

Have a good day.

H :)

I haven't heard from the doctor yet - going with no news is good news :D I'm sure if it was bad I'd have heard from them.
@heh yes you would have heard. No news is always good news. I was curious as i was going to have that test. Have white coat hypertension and it's perfect at home. Weird.

Same here, that was the third 24hr monitor I've had in the last 4-5 years and the other 2 have been fine after showing borderline-high in the doctor's surgery. But at least they are looking after me. If I get a result I'll let you know.
Good luck with your test.

Hi @JohnEGreen thanks for that. I don't think I hypo but I do get very very hungry and shaky! But the lowest I've seen is 4.2 I think. You must feel pretty rough at 2.2 don't you? Do you treat it as a hypo and take something high sugar immediately?
Yes it was unpleasant to say the least and treated it with some fast acting carbs though have to admit the low 4's leave me feeling a bit off I prefer to be in the fives or there abouts. But every one differs in some respect so you have to find your own level that suits you best.

Morning everyone off soon to get autistic 5yr old his new bathtime toy I ordered in boots.
He's enjoyed the bath more with this heat. I just need more to keep him in there.
Apparently in for a very very hot day today so I want to go as early as I can. Only hiccup, he's still in bed. :wideyed: ha ha
Hope everyone is well and their today's plans are unhindered by the sun.

I have been taking meds for high BP for years now but have never had a 24 hour test.. When I had the stents grafted for the AAA my BP dropped so far that they delayed my discharge from hospital as it was too low. And even though my BP is reasonable now am still on the meds not sure why.

In fact BP at the moment is 106/68 normalish

They are a good stroke preventer in difficult times where your BP has a tendency to raise. Higher bgs are a risk factor.
Although mine is the opposite. Good bgs raise my BP and higher one's give me lower BP. Thyroid related I feel.

All the plants in the garden are withered. The lawns are like dusty straw, so we need to use the vacuum cleaner instead of the lawn mower on it. Yet we must be doing something right as there are young frogs in the mini pond we made from old washing up bowls and a family of hedgehogs visit every night.

Mine is the same except that I have a swathe of green lawn which is always in the shade and only dries out in time of drought. The other day when we had a day and a half of rain was enough to reinvigorate it. It does look silly, though, as it turns to beige in almost a straight line.
One great thing about drought that I have learned is that couch grass comes out of the dusty flowerbeds really easily (famous last words?).
