Back on rollercoaster again. Great day yesterday but just before bedtime down to 3.8, handful of jelly beans and wake up at 5 with 14.1, quick correction dose now at 10.3. and to think I hate rollercoaster

Its glorious up here today for a change, so enjoy the sunshine peeps and have a good day

Good morning y'all :)
10.6 waking, tho' I ate an extra 12g carbs for supper to avoid the waking drop I've been seeing, 3rd night of 15u too but I'm still 'enjoying' the new basal, it looks a bit cloudy and local radio's threatening rain this aft so I'll get my skates on this morning and get work finished before it does.

Hope you have a good one :)

8.1 at 5.30 am
Had bad guts yesterday evening but as I have Bile Acid Malabsorption its nothing new to me.
I only mention this because it means......drum roll ....

I don't need to eat anything as I'm 8.1
My stomach feels great because its empty
I slept for about 5 hours solid which is good for me...

I feel ****** GREAT I really do.........

Have a top day everyone....

Tony

Just adding that I hated PE at school, and dislocated my knee during one class, the teacher could not understand why I cried at the thought of high jump even though she'd seen my knee pop out! However theses days I love the gym, my trainer describes me as "hardworking and focused". School PE does not recognise that running and throwing are not the only options.

Morning everyone,

Didn't sleep too well, as my blood sugar keep going a bit low, and then after a correction too high, and then...........well you know the rest, I think it's time to reduce the increases in Levemir, that I made recently. So I'll do that today and see what happens.

Morning.

Well after last nights little essay I'm now sat here at work dipping a Drifter buscuit in my coffee :joyful:

Why?

Well work up high 5, so took rest of Lantus, I split mine, took some Novasluggish then stuffed face with the usual breakfast.

All fine.

Drove to work still feel fine and will hold a conversation with you about Time Travel and Partical Physics.

Thought "Out of interest wonder what the Etch A Sketch says?"

2.9 :meh:

Yes! made a boo boo and please feel free to tell me off and that I should not have driven, which you are quite right.

Morning! At 5:30AM I was 13.0, took no bolus to see if it is going to rise and it did to 14.6 then 17.0 by 10:30AM. Lantus needs an increase but is it mandatory to wait 3 days?

Not sure if it is mandatory but it is long acting insulin as you know so any changes made, will take time to get picked up by the body.

If I change how many units I take with Lantus, for me, it usually take 2 or 3 days before I start to notice and makes an effect.

I'm suprised that you took no bolus, I always thought that short and long acting insulins acted as a partnership?

Hi Mel, sad to read of your medical conditions, but you are a tough cookie, who can give as good as you get.
My adult daughter, the one who has had baby Cleo, suffer's from #Ehlersdanlos#edstype3#hypermobility. Years ago her surgery didn't believe her symptoms and said it was all in her head, her daughter, my granddaughter suffers from it too, but not as severe. When my daughter moved to another town about 4 years ago, the new Gp's surgery listened and asked her if her last GP referred her for tests.......the answer was no. New surgery were straight on to it and at last she was believed and treated. I remember years ago when she was at secondary school, she used to complain of shoulder pain, we thought it was down to carrying her heavy bag over her shoulder, as it was a 25 minute walk there and back, so it may of started then !!

One of my closest friends has a horrendous time with her EDS, plus a number of other problems. Some sort of EDS (I can’t remember which) has been mentioned to me with regard to my symptoms. Hopefully my next appointment in October will clarify things. At the diabetes clinic in a month, so will give my consultant a list of my most pressing issues and see if they’re linked. But on the optimistic front, since I got my HbA1c into almost normal levels (thanks to the Libre), the shattering pain of the trigeminal neuralgia has pretty much gone. That was like a 240v electric shock in my face when I ate or even smelled food - basically one of the nerves to the salivary gland was misfiring. Neither my Maxillofacial or Diabetes consultants have seen this sort of recovery before - I was minutes away from having some very invasive treatment that would probably have made half my face numb, and killed my sense of taste. There is one instance in the literature of a type 2 man in India who reversed his by gaining good diabetic control, but that’s all any of us could find. So we think it was a neuropathy that seems to have healed - the slight numbness in my feet had improved a lot too.

Anyway... had a good solid night’s sleep, the etch-a-sketch (sorry @Knikki but I’m having that ;) ) looks relatively green - got woken up by my “high glucose” alarm that triggers when I hit 7mmol - did 1.95u as recommended by the Omnipod thingy and woke at 5.1 not long ago - pretty impressed as I set it to aim for 5. Been running in the low fives for a few hours, have to say I’m really impressed with it. I stuck my third one on last night, on my lower rib cage this time, the first two have been on my left thigh. Trying to come up with the best spot for not getting battered at a gig!

Day out in Hay-on-Wye today for the husband’s birthday :)

True but I didn't take on purpose because any rise in BG will be masked by bolus which I didn't want because I am still testing my basal so now I know

I would have definitely bolused for the 13 to get it back into single figures. When I alter my basal i usually have to wait for 3 days to see any changes in my levels thru the day/night, I wouldn't say mandatory.....just advisable
