So guys and gals! Am on hols. I am happy and relaxed. Yey! Seems my sugar levels are too. Since Saturday morning I have struggled to stay above 4 on the Libre, and it is pretty much bang on with blood results. I am so much less active first thing, enjoying a lie in, but levels just keep dropping. At home I am up, dashing, gardening, swimming, on grandson duty, house working etc and levels climb all morning. Here, no! I have cut back on my fast acting with meals, stopped pre blousing. Eaten cake and still keep going low. Don’t want to change my basal as I will be home again Saturday, and anyway it’s pretty level during the night.
This condition has a mind of its own

About 2 weeks ago I was at clinic and doc estimated my HbA1c would be around 64. Previously it had been 69. I had put a huge amount of effort and I was completely deflated when it would only be 64

This afternoon I have logged onto mydiabetesmyway, which has some of my medical records and was delighted to see that my HBA1c was 59. This was down from previous reading of 69 Whoooo Hoooo. This is the first time in my 37 years of being diabetic that I have been below 60

All of my cholesterol's are down as well, as is my blood pressure and weight from my previous appointment 6 months earlier.

Feeling a lot better now and feel that all of my effort has been worth it.

Just got to keep it going now. My new target for my next appointment is going to be 53.

Apologies for blowing my own trumpet but below 60 for first time ever is a major milestone, its only taken 37 years 4 months and 29 days
You absolute legend! Well done! Keep blowing that trumpet, I’ll give the trombone a parp at the mountain at the bottom of my garden in your honour. It’ll echo up the valley...

Pants day here, insulin like water. Insulin resistant again, in sympathy with @CranberryIce perhaps? Husband tells me I was very restless last night, so I wonder if that’s contributed to it? Lack of sleep often does for me, although I thought I’d slept ok. Ah well. I may have “rage bolused” a little with dinner, I’m now at 4.9 with a unit of IOB.... I’ll have a spot of chocklit to soak that up before bed!

Morning. Climbed steadily but surely overnight from about half 2. Even dragged myself up at 4 for a correction and still woke up higher than when I took it at 13.6. Another one coupled to my breakfast dose.

Day off to work on the garden today - dug the old one up last week and have a delivery of 3 tonnes of stone to go down on it coming this morning.

2nd day on the run where I've been up at silly o clock.
2am and 5.1 but felt lower had 3 jb then awake again at 4am feeling positively peaky so had 5 jelly babies then up at 5.30 and I'm 6.2.
3 coffees later and I'm 6.3 live as it were.

I'm awake thanks to the coffee and satisfied at my levels but other than that I'm sh****d out!

Tony

afternoon peeps , good to have forum back

Had a good BG overnight and woke after a flat night to a 5.6. great start to week BUT

Had 2 small slices of toast 28 g of carbs, and 2 poached eggs so took 7 units of Novorapid, my ratio is 1:4 taken 25 mins before I ate. 2 hours later 7.7, which is fine. Its all uphill from there 10.7, 3 hours after jab and finally 12.3, 4 hours after jab WTAF.

This is really frustrating the life out of me GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:(

Taken a correction dose about 1.5 hours ago and it has dropped but only to 9.9.

One day i will get the hang of this
Just some thoughts: ? protein to glucose conversion kicking in at 3 hours + maybe?? ? slightly more basal, or move Novorapid nearer to breakfast time.

Climbing night last night and feeling good (but tired): back in December, I over stretched myself and caused chronic tennis elbow. After months of physio, last night was the first time I felt confident enough to push myself (including my elbow) again and made it up some harder routes. BG was a little raised (8s) but that is to be expected given the added mental and physical stress associated with pulling myself (including my elbow) up some steep walls with little holds.
Woke this morning with a slightly low BG (3.5) which is no surprise and an elbow which is no sorer than usual.
Disappointed I will be travelling for work next week so cannot repeat it for a fortnight.
Did you reduce your basal a bit overnight to try to avoid the hypo??
Can you go swimming where you travel to keep muscles limber ?

I like that analogy - I had a good starting point to run from and a lot of leverage, was worried my muscles wouldn’t work well with the extra glucose but knew my bg level would come down just had the insulin on board to worry about instead, what was great was once I started I hardly thought about my t1.
GDG and BDG, sounds good and better than swear words !!

Morning y'all, 5.9 waking to a little 3,8 just to give me a red line and pootling along at 4,7. overdid the pre bolus again but I'll learn :p yeah right :p

I've got a little drizzle ooh er missus and it's blowing a bit of a hoolie but I'll get to work when it calms down, @porl69 good luck with your appointment & @db89 watch those blood sugars if you're shifting stones :)

Thanks @kev-w got a watchful eye on it as I did last week when we were lifting the earth. Got all the tech just a case of listening and working with it now. :)

Accidentally did similar to you this morning by overdoing the timing to get back into range - delivery turned up early just as I was about to have my brekkie! Came back in to a 6.4 with two downwards arrows so it was an interesting 30 minutes watching it and I just about stuck the landing before hypoing.

Handy reminder of how quick Fiasp can be when it peaks.

Morning all - woke to a nice 6.7 today so went for a run after Sunday's 10k and struggled at the 4km mark, legs got proper moaney, so struggled through to 5 and stopped, finished at 5.4mmol/l, took kids to school and now trying to get work done..

Good luck today @porl69 hope you get a good outcome @Cumberland - Hopefully no fillings ;)
