Have You Noticed...

It’s also quite frustrating when theses algorithms insist in capitalising the lower case “de” in my last name... :banghead::mad:

And this is why it won't be changed, the mods/admins here can't make such changes to software.
But if it it looks slightly silly compared to what you want its better than no formatting.

For example:
People could use titles such as 'I WANT HELP WITH SOMETHING AND SOMETHING ELSE' (ouch)
or 'i want help with something and something else' or 'i Want help with Something and something eLse', or a variety of other things which which no formatting don't look particularly good and do end up just looking messy.
And whilst you would like 'I Want Help with Something and Something Else', I reckon 'I Want Help With Something And Something Else' (which is what you get) is better than nothing :)
Stop shouting lol

My hubby is American and has said that Capitalising the first letter of every word is not a common practice where he is from, which PA. (Pennsylvania)

As long as I can read what the content is, I have no issue. Now I Am Off For That Cheeky Glass |Of Wine ; )

You all need a better hobby...... ;@)

I'm loving this thread as I am a proofreader and thus paid (not very well) to think about these things all day, every day. I've been employed that way on both sides of the giant pond so have thoughts about headlines styles and all kinds of style/spelling/grammar/punctuation swirling in my brain constantly...! But I will happily let typos abound in my own work. In any case, if you really want to blow your mind about how title casing headlines can differ even in the US, chew on these different methods to follow:

Associated Press style
Gregg Reference Manual style
Chicago Manual of Style

(...and no, I'm not explaining how they differ!). I should really not think about this off the clock. Nobody likes me being pedantic out of office hours. ;)

However, I think none of those styles would cover what happens with the forum titles, eg capitalising conjunctions, which seems plainly unacceptable.

Capitalisation doesn't bother that much even if there's a difference between UK and US English usage. I get itchy about the use of the verb "to be" stative and dynamic.
You're silly. A permanent state
You're being silly. Temporary and will change = dynamic
Pedant that I am!! McDonald's "I'm loving it" slogan is incorrect use unless that it you're stuffing your face with a burger at the same time as uttering the words

“I’m loving/liking” really boils my pi... urine.

Have you sent your email like DCUK Mod suggested? I think you raise some valid points.
No, I thought that was a brush off, so didn't bother. I am interested in this sort of thing, but I understand that many others can't be bothered or think it's pedantic. I know that I'm somewhere on the autistic spectrum, so grammar correction comes naturally, not that I'm ever rude enough to tell anyone about their mistakes.

I can cope with most grammar errors but what drives me mad on forums is text speak. So lazy and unnecessary, not to mention hard work to decipher.

No, I don't think it was a brush off. If I can find the energy I will email her. :)
