SDCodeFree "EEE" error message

So my SDCodeFree started displaying "EEE" and switching off immediately after doing a reading. It also failed to record the reading.

Looking at the manual told me little except that "EEE" means "Error".

So I tried replacing the battery the battery and on the next test the error no longer occurred.

So it appears that "EEE" is probably just an unhelpful way of advising that the battery needs changing.

I can't be 100% sure because by coincidence when I changed the battery I also had to start a new batch of test strips, but I very much doubt the the test strips were the problem.

My NHS prescribed Trueresult does this from time to time as an error amongst its other failings. My own SD codefree is fine so far.

Well I was pretty certain that the low battery symbol was not showing, although changing the battery did the trick. So I dug out the old battery and put it in and this time no error. So, a bit of a mystery.

I would contact Home Health if I were you. They will most likely send you a replacement meter. Better this than see rogue readings.
 
I had this just occur on my SD meter. Changed the battery, and still got EEE after a reading. Reading did flash up on screen before being replaced by EEE, but did not store it.

Solved it by resetting the time end date info. Even though these had been correct before, the action of going through the SET routines may have cleared something.
 
Home Health customer care service is excellent get in touch and they may send a new one
