I reckon it's the cold. I spent yesterday afternoon going too high on food/insulin which wouldn't normally do that, and was also a bit cold all day. I also generally reckon I use less insulin when it's hot, so this is just the opposite way round. Body shutting itself down a bit to conserve energy in the cold? (stupid body, it would be much better if you started burning things to warm up, energy is easy to get nowadays)

Yes, as with everything T1 there are lots of factors to consider. It’s interesting that I’m not the only one to find Levemir uncompromising, and I’ve come across at least two other people who’ve encountered the problem of it prematurely faecalling out. That said, it’s better than Lantus, for me.

Well my fellow collanders the meeting with the pump consultant went much better than I thought. He just asked me how i was how my BG had been. I explained I was having issues with inconsistent BG mainly in morning and of course Dawn Phenomenon. He did not ask to see my Libre nor did he look at my arms or legs to see the lumps and bumps.

He should me a pump and a brief outline of how it worked

He noted that I had done the DAFNE course and I got the impression that was a big factor in his decision. He will now consult with my diabetic consultant, who had recommened I get the pump, and he said he would also recommend I get a pump. They have a monthly meeting with all consultant in area and from there decide who will get pump.

He gave me a further appointment with the pump clinic in 7 weeks. This is pretty much to explain in more details how pump works etc. He then estimated that by around March/April I should have my pump.

I dont know how i feel at moment, elated is probably my strongest feeling. Actually sitting here crying as I type this

Not being on holiday....
Just had a mad hour at work burnt a lot of energy resulting in a 3.8.

I'm at my desk now reading and typing but without computers what would I be doing?

Its a perfect pastime whilst waiting for the midget gems to kick in.

Perhaps I'd be reading a paper or a book but people think you are working sat at your desk tapping away.....

Big hug - it's quite an emotional journey living the type 1 'dream', I was the same I was very emotional when I got the go ahead, felt like a great weight had been lifted and also felt honoured that my team were prepared to invest in me and I didn't want to let them down.

Good afternoon and a Happy Tuesday to you all :) Daughter and granddaughter were round today, then when they left I was online looking for jobs and applied for one, hope I get an interview :)
Off to the cinema soon, going to watch the Bohemian Rhapsody movie and looking forward to it, as Freddie was such an entertainer and a brilliant song writer.

I am so impressed with my son, as he was asked to paint a canvas of John Wayne, the guy didn't mind how he drew it, but he has chosen J W on a horse and my son has never painted a horse before, I am so proud, so I would love to show it to you, but as you see, it is not finished yet.

Just had an e-mail from the rehoming centre to say if I hadn't heard from them in the last 48hours, I hadn't, it would mean I hadn't been matched with the collie dog. Sad!
Also means I'll have to keep on working............... boohoo

John Wayne looks absolutely great @Robinredbreast no wonder you're proud of him.

Thank you so much Alison, he is so talented, my oldest brother was very talented too at Art and his grandson ( my great nephew) is at an Art College in Scotland , so my son obviously get's it from my side of the family ..............:D

I tried a double quantity of the 90s bread base poured into a silicone cake tin and baked until just set in the oven, before turning out and topping. That worked quite well.

My lad is 15, I’m all for getting him out into the world. He’s planning an engineering apprenticeship at the moment, but it’s all a bit fluid. He’s a great lad, but I am biased.

All mothers are biased, but so allowed to be.

There are plenty of other places, some of them can be a bit cranky, so try somewhere else. You might find a different dog that needs a home even more.

Thanks Juicyj and to you all for your kind words. The support you guys give me and those who post,is just incredible

About an hour after typing my original post, I got really emotional at work, luckily there was no one else in office, The tears simply welled up in me, as I think I finally realised the enormity, of what will happen over the next few months. How this small device will hopefully improve my health and well being, after almost 38 years of MDI

I was really surprised at the tears as I dont generally do emotion
