Years ago when I hadn't long moved to Somerset there were warnings on the radio about drunken badgers which I didn't really believe - until it turned out they'd been feasting on the windfalls in as yet unharvested cider orchards. I really, really don't want to meet a drunk badger

I've been in Somerset 14 years and never heard of this until now. Interesting idea!

Morning all, not much going on here, again, blood sugar wise, but I'm not complaining, blood sugar I love when you're boring, please be as boring as you want to be.

Just put a new sensor on to soak this morning, changing this evening. Libre has had a weird effect on me, I can feel myself becoming more sociable, very strange. Has anyone else had any changes that go beyond better blood sugar control.

I'm thinking I might actually be so sociable that I buy my downstairs neighbour a token Christmas gift. She is early 60s, very tough, been in prison, so if anyone has any ideas what might be appropriate I'd welcome them. I might go for a Christmas food type gift.

hi alison i used to be quite nervous b4 i had libre when i went out socialising and although i dont find it particulary accurate it does give me that bit more confidence as i watch what way the arrows are going so i dont panic as much as i used to

good afternoon everyone thanks for all the well wishes .what i thought was my 6 month review was only my 3 month one .but have been discharged from that clinic as i have another pump clinic appointment in feb so nurse said consultant will write to gp at that time for the next six months talked more about the pump than libre to be honest she told me that based on a1c results i wouldnt meet the criteria and i dont want to make that higher currently at 61.but she did point out about the loss of hypo awareness and anxiety affecting my quality of life due to this is a criteria i would get my pump .also she said i would still be able to have libre on prescription too .so happy days and roll on february shes told me to look at diffrent pumps online so i will do that after xmas anyway enjoy the rest of your day everyone and thanks again

i havent she gave me a website to have alook on she showed me one but it looked quite bulky and i asked if they done smaller and she said yes so for me the smaller the better have you decided on yours yet and what features are you looking at

I had the choice of Medtronic 640G, Omnipod or accu check combo. Have gone for the 640G. I dont really mind the "tubey" pump idea.

I got that lifted with the miaomiao, the only difference being that I was aware of that anxiety

Thriving? They're taking over the world! In summer it's not unusual to see a 'column' of about 15-20 just circling. Magnificent birds.

Saw one sitting in a tree this afternoon looking for mice presumably, amazing things...... kites not mice. I've only ever seen 2 in the sky and certainly wouldn't have seen them this morning even if they'd been sitting in the apple tree outside the bedroom window. Dark as a...??

My students are very familiar with my Spike App alarms and are constantly checking if I am
in range

Technically, I'm a Learning Support Assistant, but because of the kind of students we have, the dividing line between Learning Support and tutors is very fluid. I do teach Life Skills/Work Skills for a few hours each week to my group and fill the rest of my timetable with Support work.

I'm also one of the few who remains with the one group all the time. We have a theory of "All LSAs should be able to work with any student" until it comes to my group... when asked to cover an absence, most of the rest of the LSA team turn pale with fright or panic at the mere thought. Today's cover staff seemed to have survived his day with us.

I've always been totally up-front with the students I work with about my diabetes. They remember me pre-LADA diagnosis, and have got used to the insulin stuff along with me. We've used my blood glucose meter for number reading practice, the insulin ratio for the two students who can cope with ratios for practice with that, the injecting to talk about risk assessments, dealing with needle phobias. I ask first if they mind about the injecting, and they've always been of the opinion it's something I've got to get on with, so why am I even asking!

Your pupils sound lovely and I expect it’s because they like you.
My students used to keep an eye on me too, in the kindest possible way: the general warning was if I started behaving as if I’d drunk a bottle of gin then ask me if I needed to eat, and the glucose tablets are in my handbag.
