What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I feel so happy with today's FBS. I feel a brass band would be in order. Playing a song of victory. Loud. No louder than that!!!

5.2

There is no victory without a battle.

I found this Christmas and New year more challenging than last in that last year I had just been diagnosed. Focused beyond belief. And stayed that way all year. This year, I know my body, I know what foods I can and can't eat to keep my BS stable. I did allowed myself a couple of roasties, a bit of stuffing, a slice of toast (burgen), a few celebrations, a dessert. And a few extra glasses of wine celebrating the festive season with family and friends. I caught up with friends over dinner not always knowing all ingredients. Chancing it. Making the best choices I could from a menu. I knew there would be consequences. My FBS went from 5s into the 6s and on one occasion the 7s. So now I'm back to my normal eating and have seen the results in today's FBS results. To say I'm happy is an understatement.

And another positive, this is the first Christmas that I didn't put a pound on! LCHF woe I love you.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, but not to that politician who has been caught trying to dodge a speeding fine hehehehe.

Well surprise surprise a 6.5 for me this morning. Aren't stick on numbers wonderful, must remember to remove them before I next go to the diabetic clinic!
Have a great day folks. Behave, me's certainly ain't, I'm being left unsupervised again.

Good morning and a belated happy new year.

So 6.2 this morning after 5’s all week ! Christmas and new year spent with a cold helped my sugar levels go a bit wobbly but I lost 1lb. Back to my low ish carb again I stick to less than 50g so lowish

6.9, which is better than the 7.2 yesterday. Whenever I don't post, I'm either too busy or sulking about a high score.
glad to see @Cumberland back in business, albeit sad news about the pup.
If you want a good giggle today read the Slimming World article in the Mail / Express: it's a hatchet job on LCHF that trots out all the things we know not be true. Brings out the keyboard warrior in me. Just thinking of a suitably pithy response. Problem is, that as goldfish, I think of great line, but then forget it 7 seconds later.

Wow, @philchap1 , thank you, you just made my day! :)

@PenguinMum good to be riding with you on the 6.2 today. :)
Hi Sakia must be frustrating posting in your morning when we are beyond lunch. Also @Chronicle_Cat . Anyway hope you are well. Got a bit cold here since Christmas (hey nothing like Canada and suspect it will get worse here). Anyway Bobs and Daisy are staying in after early morning essentials, hugging rugs and radiators. Hope KittenCat is bearing up..

You are right, I was still running madly towards the corner when you were already half a dozen stops away, oh, well, the driver said he thought you might have been there since he'd found a feather on the step ...

I actually posted vvveerrryyy early this morning something about eleven pipers piping the old year out (a few days late but you know what 100 whiskies will do even to a piper) ...

And the KittenCat says thank you, she appreciated your asking after her while I was out gallivanting (she knows I was really out hunting her dinner but she calls it gallivanting when she suspects I've been out with a DOG ...

But she forgave me when I came home bearing fish and a chip!

I'm well.

I think Saskia and I are in the same time zone - Eastern Standard Time, 5 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time when we don't have Daylight Savings Time in the summer. BTW, it was a Scottish Canadian, Sir Stanford Fleming who invented time zones because the railways had trouble co-ordinating times (Canada mostly exists because of the transcontinental railway, it was the promise that got many of the provinces to join confederation.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandford_Fleming

Actually the part of Canada I live in (southern Ontario, Toronto specifically) usually isn't too bad in the winter, it depends on the year. The Great Lakes moderate our temperatures and the American side of Lake Ontario gets more snow than us because of the prevailing winds. It is colder in the American midwest than here because they don't have large lakes to moderate their temperatures (my Mom is originally from there). It's even warmer on the far west coast, it rarely gets snow in the winter there, mostly rain. Most Canadians live within 200 miles of the US border, very, very few people live further north. Geographically, we are a very large country with a very varied climate and geography.

Sorry I was a history major and librarian originally.....

My 3 kitties are all indoor cats, too many drivers here not mention skunks, raccoons and the occasional fox or coyote! (Even though greater Toronto is 6 million people. over 2.8 million for the city proper, we have a lot of ravines and creeks and therefore wildlife.)

2/3 Snap, @Chronicle_Cat . Former librarian living in the same time zone as you but with undergraduate major in German. The only history course I really enjoyed was one taught by an Oxford man. ;) !

It does feel out of sync sometimes to be just posting FBG when so many others here are thinking about lunch if not quitting time, but OTOH I am just snuggling in for a hopefully good night's sleep when many others are getting up to scrape the windshield or to brave 50mph winds on a bike. This BB does get a bit boring around US midnight - UK dawn, but sometimes there are a few people posting 3-word story episodes and I'm looking forward to seeing what the hamster squadron is planning for dawn patrol.
