Type of diabetes
Type 2
I am going away in September and need travel insurance, please could anyone give me advice on finding an insurance
that is cheaper for having diabetes

You really need to shop around and get several quotes via a price comparison site and also try companies that don't advertise on comparison sites as they can often be cheaper. For what it's worth I got a good price from "Holidaysafe" insurance.

I used a price comparison site, and bought cover with 'Top Dog' Insurance for my last trip.

be interested in what was a 'Good ' price'..?

got mine with the building society.
quoted £24 for year..no US or S america.
added i had T2D pushed it up to £53..

Shames, you've got a little typo in your thread title, which could be a bit confusing. Would you like me to sort that out for you?

Edited to remove a typo of my own,......... doh!

@jjraak try one of the specialist medical insurance companies such as Insureandgo or Staysure. My husband has health issues which will cost if he needs to go into hospital so he is quite expensive but mine is usually between £10.00 and £20.00 depending where we go usually Channel Isands or Europe and what we’re doing - cruises are the most expensive. Ave quote for Canada though is £1,000.00 single trip so we will need to think about that one!

I spent days searching and phoning to find a company to insure me (diabetes plus loads of other stuff) and my family for annual multi trip, including USA - the one advertised on this site proved to be best value, though I did have trouble with the payment section online - sorted after a few phone calls.

Only one trip at the moment - we often go away twice a year but one tends to be in this country on the mainland so we don’t bother then.

My bank’s (Nationwide) annual worldwide travel insurance included in our account added £10 for my diet only type 2 with no complications.

Individually Spain, USA, and cruises (you must say it’s a cruise not just list the countries it visits as it is cruise specific and they wriggle out of it otherwise) I know cost more than other trips. Possibly re are other expensive areas too.

thinking on, i should say the quote was £24 with asthma..and the T2D pushed it into More then ONE stated illness,
so that made it the extra cost.

seemed better then i hoped for..so happy, but may have paid too much.

strange ( i have used them before) but would never have considered them if they hadn't sent me a flyer with some statement or other.
