Morning all! All is back to whatever passes for normal in the Japes' blood sugars department.
To add to the wins, one of my piano students (aged 10) also asked if she could watch what I have to do as she wants to be a doctor but knows she's going to have to get over her vocally expressed dislike of blood/injections if she's going to be a good doctor. There had been piano practise done since the last lesson, so her reward was stabbing me with the lancet and getting the blood out... She can do the whole test properly next time she asks.
Um, yes, I probably do have an unusual approach to education, but it seems to work. Now, maybe I should tackle those who impose primary school resources on my students. I'm waiting for the kick-off later today. Really, if the look, say, cover, write word 3 times approach worked for them, they'd've all been fine with spelling from the start - they're with us because conventional approaches haven't worked with whatever their learning disability is!! They end up learning with me because I get that, and find a way with them which does work.
