@helensaramay it's bad enough when the dispensing pharmacy manages to get a prescription wrong or not have it ready in a reasonable time (I no longer experience that thankfully, the current pharmacy attached to my GP's surgery is great) but for the pharmacist to not add or just remove items is plain crazy. Will you be having the conversation with her about why it's not a good idea to mess with your scripts? quite like to be a fly on the wall if so ;)

There ar good & bad pharmacists.

My old one would try to fob me off with "whatever came to hand?" Lol, she came across as a "party girl" (fair enough... But wrong job.) who either didn't go to bed after a night of "hedonism"or grabbed a few winks in what she had on the night before.. (Including make up.)
I learned a very long time ago to always check what's in the bag...

My pharmacist now (By total change of contrast.) in my new location, sees me comming up the road & is ready with my script as if walk through the door.
Any issues. (Maybe something was omitted?) she rings the surgery. I always order early & give it a couple of days extra "grace?"
If the pharmacist spots me or my wife in the high street of our vullage, we get notified my scrypt is ready..

Chemist of the decade award!

MOOOOOOOOOORNING! Just off to the ambulance station for a 6-6 shift. It’s a really good way to get some extra experience for my community first responder role :) Blood steady at 5.4, let’s see what the day brings...

Have a good one ❤️

Morning guys.

Have a good day Mel - first responder is such an important job, I greatly admire those who do it.

Congrats on your yesterday Japes - sounds like it made up for Sunday

I've been with the same pharmacist for many years; she's brilliant at spotting when a prescribed drug will not sit well with my epilepsy meds, and always explains any potential problems.

I started the day nicely on 5.3 having ended it on 7.9 which was a bit high for my liking. I whacked in 1.5 units to compensate plus my basal, and it worked out well.

Longer day today - agreed overtime. I hate it but the money is useful and it's my lovely not-quite-daughter-in-law's birthday this month.

Morning all! All is back to whatever passes for normal in the Japes' blood sugars department.

To add to the wins, one of my piano students (aged 10) also asked if she could watch what I have to do as she wants to be a doctor but knows she's going to have to get over her vocally expressed dislike of blood/injections if she's going to be a good doctor. There had been piano practise done since the last lesson, so her reward was stabbing me with the lancet and getting the blood out... She can do the whole test properly next time she asks.

Um, yes, I probably do have an unusual approach to education, but it seems to work. Now, maybe I should tackle those who impose primary school resources on my students. I'm waiting for the kick-off later today. Really, if the look, say, cover, write word 3 times approach worked for them, they'd've all been fine with spelling from the start - they're with us because conventional approaches haven't worked with whatever their learning disability is!! They end up learning with me because I get that, and find a way with them which does work.

Morning all. Grandson day today. Maybe the park first thing. I cannot believe it is a week since I was running around Monkey Maze. Although very capable, at 22 months he is a little young to be left up high on his own. (Especially with the 4 year old thug that was also on the loose-there’s always one) Nana got very good at negotiating the slide!!
Re GPs pharmacists- from what I understand they are employed by the surgery to oversee all the drugs prescribed and manage the drugs budget. (They do not do the same job as the dispensing pharmacist.) So they are bound to try and prescribe cheaper items. When I had my bolus changed I had to wait for the Gp pharmacist to change it on my repeat prescription. When I went in to find out what the delay was (2 weeks) the receptionist discovered the consultants letter sitting in his to do list!

Technically, I am "less sensitive to low BG" rather than hypo unaware. What this means is, on average, I notice a low BG at a lower value.
I am currently in the process of retraining my body to notice this by increasing my target BG on my pump.
As today's experience shows, this is working and I may reduce my target BG in a few weeks.
I hope my DSN does not consider this retraining when my CCG decides to issue Libre again.

Hi Helen, I seem to be the other way around, I can feel a hypo at 3, but often if I am busy/occupied it can drop very low and I am unaware, which has caused problems.

Good luck today Mel :)

Good morning, work was quiet yesterday, but okay. Talked to a guy who is an extra in films and video's, his latest one is a music video and he drives past in a car. He did sample the foods yesterday and even bought one too, we had a great conversation about London, I used to live there music etc, it's the people that makes the job, the diverse range of customer's from the little ones to the older ones, who tell some wonderful stories.

BG this morning, 10.4 :meh: little toe was quite painful yesterday, but after a long soak in the bath, I think it is a tiny bit better this morning, I put some Sudocrem on it last night, so maybe that helped.
Happy Tuesday to you all :)

Morning everyone,
Madam's misbehaving again this morning, 8.4 but so it seems is my whole body.
Med review with the pharmacist yesterday, BP up, cholesterol up, weight up, HbA1c up now 52. Weirdly he took a look at my feet and said they were in good nick and also said the ratio between my LDL and HDL was good and that my diet was obviously fine. Then he said to eat porridge every morning, oily fish, avocados and walnuts, not in the same bowl I'm assuming. I tried to get him to take me off statins...NO!
Odd what these guys do

Luckily (!) I react very badly to the only statin that doesn't clash horribly with my epilepsy meds (after the doc consulted with the chief pharmacist at our hospital). Since I point blank refuse to change that medication, they had no choice but to take me off statins and put me on ezetimibe, and tell me to eat oats. Also my GP suggested the Benecol range of products but I pointed out that we have a pension and a part time wage between us - Benecol is a little out of our range!

Going to RHS gardens in Wisley today and being taken out for lunch too. I'm looking forward to it , but hope the weather brightens up, even for just a few hours :)
@Molly56 I know you love visiting these types of places, have you been before ?
