What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

FBG 5.2 wooohooooo! Don't know where it came from but I'll take it! Personal best ever FBG.
@ianpspurs you have dedication and perseverance. I am trying to follow in your footsteps carefully, although without the fancy scale...
@jjraak yes you got it!
@PenguinMum problem with this kitchen floor is that I can't tell what's tile, what's food spill, what's cat messes from one end or the other.... In another house I was able to deploy all my oriental rugs, predominately red. I never minded coming home to a dead rodent on one of those, generously gifted by the orange terror hunter. Nothing showed on those rugs! Glad you slept well!!!!
@Goacher55 do you know, I know exactly what you mean about the aesthetics of the numbers!! Also, one pasta dish would surely send me into orbit too. I'm sorry...
Winner winner chicken dinner!!!

Late today as granddaughter day. Full on chasing her around all day. Got her over night too so only time for sharing my social media post:

Emotional status alert written as I sit watching my beautiful granddaughter playing in the bath.......
Not everyone gets the chance to be a parent. Not everyone gets a chance to be a grandparent. I feel blessed. I'm a mum and a granny. I've watched my 2 children grow into adults. I've felt pride along the way, enough to make me burst. Still feel that with both Anne-Marie and Phil now. Never brought an ounce of trouble.

Then the icing on the cake. You are told you are going to be a grand parent! Tears of joy follow.

When I first saw her face I could not believe it. The next generation. I've watched her grow from being very dependent to wanting to be very independent in the space of 30 months.

I have her all to myself on a Friday. We have our own language. I understand every single word she speaks. Not everyone would be so privileged.

She follows me around. She calls my name 'gaga'. My heart melts. I come running. 'Wuv you'. My heart melts. She laughs and giggles. My heart melts. She cries. My heart breaks. 'Wake up Phil' regularly. I laugh (he works late night shifts!!!) Being a granny is like being on an emotional rollercoaster with the thrills of the Big One.

I have time to spend with her. Time I didnt have to spend with my own two as a full time working mum . But my mum was an exceptionally good granny and gave so much. I aspire to be like her but I won't ever be in her league. What an amazing granny she was. My daughter still wears the necklace mum got from her beloved sister for her 50th birthday around her wrist. Can't count the times its broken but fortunately we have someone in the family who can 'fix fix'. . Eric, the best grandad ever!!!

She wants to get out of the bath now so I have my granny duties to do but just felt I wanted to share this moment with you. Goodness knows I share everything else!!!

UPDATE
Sleep over tonight. Up to bed. Then you hear the dreaded words shouted at the top of her voice 'POO POO ' actually shouted 'granny' but I knew exactly what THAT meant! Taking the rough with the smooth . believe me it could not have been much rougher!

Grandchildren are certainly a gift .

For @SaskiaKC
And for @zauberflote

I have no photos of me doing that, but found this.

I googled to see if the guy Paul was still around. I found info on him. He is also a musician and other stuff.

No one took him up on his offer of doing this that day. I had not seen anyone else done, so I had nothing to be scared of. But looking at the video...

This is a very short You Tube video on how he did it, and he had me suspended for quite some time with those bands round my feet and hands....
He did the cymbals and musical stuff while I was suspended like that.

I hope that link works...

Oh, my! I have never seen anything like that before. One of our babysitters did something sort of similar for my sister and me when we were little but nothing at all that complex. I enjoyed seeing that. Thank you for posting it. :)

So fairly early today with my 5.6 - apologies in advance if what follows seems ungrateful to some. That is not in line with what LC does for my body composition stats or where this menagerie lion for some kind of safety belt is drawn. It is close but too much like the balloon in that cider advert. Have a great long weekend if not working and if working I hope you are one of those people who enjoy their work.
Bit of balance? Sun gleaming down on the dewy grass, baby rabbits scampering in the orchard section, chickens wandering freely. I know I have lots to be thankful for but having done that doesn't mean I settle for things not working properly.

8.9 at 7 am

Yesterday I was in the 7’s all day. That good has never happened before.

So I was a little disappointed with an 8.9 this morning.

But I have been awake the last two hours in bed trying to work out how to outwit an essential app I need which keeps divorcing itself from my Cochlear speech processor. I need the app to run and adjust it etc.

But when I looked on reviews for both iPhone version of app and Android version of app, in general the reviews are appalling with just about every user complaining to the developers of exactly the same problems as I am encountering.

The standard response of the developers is what? “We are very sorry. Contact Cochlear...”

The Android app was first started a year ago, and those complaints have been there from the start. The iPhone app was started July 2018, and exactly the same complaints there from the start. So nothing has changed in a year.

So I clicked on the Cochlear link the developers gave. And am greeted with a photo of a distinguished looking gentleman with the same speech processor as myself, and the words were something on the lines of ...”So easy to control and adjust from your iPhone...” and more amazing promotional rubbish.

Steam is coming out of my ears....
:arghh::bag::bigtears::bored::mad:o_O

Take care. Don’t go out...not in UK, it’s gridlock time on the roads for 3 days...

A much more acceptable 4.4 this morning.

I’m only now realising there is a correlation between how much nova rapid I’ve had during the day and how much night time abasaglar I need. I’ve said it so many times I do like mathematical logic. And a good spreadsheet ( I’m not one bit embarrassed by my inner geek )

@karen8967 be careful 2.6 is a bit low..

@gennepher whoop on the 7’s

Right good people I’m off volunteering today at our local hospice care shop

Have a fab bank holiday weekend !!
Even if it’s going to be the threatened wind, hail, rain, wind and snow..

Morning All. 6.3 on the wheel of fortune at 0800. I am aware that if I got up earlier it might be lower but not today. We have two house virwings today which means I have to leave the house for an hour on two separate occasions. I do like this malarkey of the agents conducting the viewing without the owner but it can be awkward at times.
Had a second viewing yesterday but they’re still not sure which probs will lead to a silly offer.
@Debandez what a lovely post about your grandaughter. You are indeed blessed with such a lovely family but dont forget you have made it happen too.
@HarrisonK great weather for reseeding, sun, rain, sun, rain. Get out there quick. I am watching my reseeded front lawn like a hawk and LOVE rain o/n.
@zauberflote I love my kitchen floor and am grateful when the girls deposit things there rather than the newly carpeted downstairs.
@gennepher you have the patience of a saint and are very clever while still chalking up good BG.
Have a great Saturday everyone. Enjoy whatever you do. Stay well, stay safe.
