What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Today had breakfast with 10g of carbs. Did weekly shop at Aldi, then an hour of admin before an hour long bus journey to dentist. Had 45 minutes to do my shopping in the city centre. I started to get hypo symptoms. Saw dentist and rushed back to bus station - hypo symptoms continuing.

Finally back home - meter says 3.2. How weird is that as I am not on insulin or meds. I am assuming that people without diabetes do go as low as that but really surprised that I keep getting these readings in the 3s lately.

@zauberflote the Vivaldi sounds like fun. Which concerto? I was just thinking yesterday that I need to see about ordering the Bach concerto that has the recorders. Mine are just lying around these days.

C manor RV 443. It's for my flute ensemble and was bought merely bc it featured the instrument combo we currently have lol. Only the first mvt.

Yikes-- that sounds scary! Were you feeling better soon?

Gosh Krystyna horrible for you being out alone and quite a long way from home. Hope you’re ok now.

Les jeux sont faits. Well not quite. One more football game at Wembley tomorrow evening, Saturday, The FA Cup Final. A win by City would give us a domestic clean sweep of all four trophies, something that could stand as a record for 100 years. So much respect to other teams such as Villa and Newport County, still chasing their dreams too. Well done to all true players and fans this year.

My FBG 101 octane, like the fuel in the Spitfires in 1940. I'll come back down to earth in a few weeks time.

Until then, standing upon the shoulders of giants.

Agree it’s annoying that phones have got so big they poke out of your pocket.
I sympathize with the being awake too early syndrome. Normally if that happens I’ll put a Sleepcast on from the Headspace app - works every time. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the end as I’ve always fallen asleep again. Last night however, I obviously couldn’t use the phone. S*d’s law!
Home smoked trout sounds delicious.
I had a Nokia 3350. Everything has gone downhill since then.

I don't need a smartphone. I have a max techy home office. But I do have an Android, after all, wouldn't want to be a victim of FOMO.

Interesting annual FU with asthma/allergist this morning. 2 of my standard breathing tests were NORMAL (ok, low end but still), and a third was one percentage point below normal. He was very enthusiastic. Asked him if he wanted to know how that happened. Of course he did! "Very low carb food". He got a smug smile as though I were his next scholarly article. I offered that if he had any patients of a diabetic nature he could tell them about me. He said, " they won't do it! They refuse! Endocrinologists are tearing their hair out!" He's very talkative to start with, so I didn't have much chance to get a word in.
So now apparently I have no excuse for not being able to play a lonnng phrase without a breath. Great.

I took a friend with me when I attended the DESMOND course...after asking a couple of questions I realised it was just an exercise in futility for me...I spoke to the 'facilitator' she felt I was too advanced for the course (only diagnosed 7 months) so agreed there was no need for me to attend the afternoon session...it was such a disappointment & a waste of time...counter production to good diabetes management...it must be a real money spinner for some!
I actually cant believe this is where we are with available support. It's a nightmare scenario.

I think she was worried what we might say at the end of the course when it came to completing the questionnaire...she had every right to be worried...it was absolutely worse than useless.

6.3 @ 7.00 AM

Last night at dinner I realized i was out of Metformin. Need to visit pharmacy to see if I can just buy it over the counter. If not visit to the clinic to meet doctor. And then an hour at the gym....

Good weekend everyone

Can you just call the pharmacy and ask them to refill? Mine texts me when it's time for me to refill. Saves having to walk all 100 yards over there! :D

I live in Indonesia and there isn’t exactly a NHS equivalent. So, we (at least i as a non Indonesian) have a GP at a hospital who prescribes and the pharmacy sells only based on prescription. So every time i am through with medication I need to still meet the GP... for prescription and any changes in medication... And my GP is on vacation... so met another one to basically write out “continue current medication” on a paper to get my next couple of months’ supply...
