What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning. 4.8 for me this morning. Spent yesterday evening out in the garden exterminating weeds. Managed to clear half of the earth. I think I will show some seeds today as rain is forecast later so it will save watering. I will have a coffee first and plan what goes where. I am trying cauliflower for the first time this year but not potatoes or corn. My garden will be low carb too.

Good morning All. 5.6 at 0800 after a biggish dinner. No choc but for anyone wondering I did have two of the “ new” gins. Small survey todate but one of the new gin seems optimal! Will report any worthwhile findings.
All of you reporting soggyness and I so need some. I have a third of an acre of reseeded grass needing water badly. Yesterday promised rain here all day with spits and spots and dark clouds but came to nothing. So its laborious and costly watering again this evening.
@zauberflote good news from the asthma checks and good effort to promote LC. @gennepher hope you have a relaxing day after your eye treatment.
Have a great Saturday everyone. Could those with excess rain send it my way pls.
Stay well, stay safe.

Thank you for your wishes.
I will ask the sogginess here to wend it’s big drops in your direction...so I can enjoy the potting shed later with moggy...who by the way is sitting in the rain in the garden...

Good morning folks, a seemingly popular 4.8 on the dice, a cheese on toast score if ever there was one.
Lindt 85% and a bottle of Malbec is a corridor that needs further exploration, who knew ?
Great fbg and interesting route @trick60 , possibly not quite the road as little taken as you think from some other posts but not one DNs promote readily.

I live in Indonesia and there isn’t exactly a NHS equivalent. So, we (at least i as a non Indonesian) have a GP at a hospital who prescribes and the pharmacy sells only based on prescription. So every time i am through with medication I need to still meet the GP... for prescription and any changes in medication... And my GP is on vacation... so met another one to basically write out “continue current medication” on a paper to get my next couple of months’ supply...

It’s not easy is it.
You don’t always know when GP is going on holiday, or even be on a sabbatical which I forever found mine was on when I needed to see him. Otherwise I had to see a stranger who knew nothing about my problems.

Not easy but I would say not too bad either. Actually my GP (nice gentleman that i like) did tell me he would be away from 10th to 20th May. I just took note but didn’t realize my medicine would run out while he was on vacation. Anyway it wasn’t too much effort.

By the way the GP is in another town in Indonesia to help his grown up son, who is a doctor himself, set up his house. My GP was complaining “kids these days can’t set up their house... cannot manage without mom & dad helping out”

In search of some data really but IMHO very much tied up with this thread. How many of you good folk a) plan your menu each day and b) if you do is it based on carb count or using a tool/app to analyse vitamins, nutrients, cals in and out or c) just what you like to eat that is LC? Is there a poll tool on this forum as I would be very interested in this data. TIA and please feel free to ignore me.

It's the same the world over nowadays.

I am of the generation who had to do it totally on my own over half a century ago. My weekly wages (as a woman they were poor compared to a man's) barely covered my rent. And so second job was needed as washing pots at a golf club in the evening. The chef there always fed every worker that came in with a meat steak of some sort (often gammon) and a massive plate of chips. And so I got fed!

A) I don’t but my better half does it, which obviously makes her the best half.
B) No carb counting, no tools. Judgment, awareness of diabetics needs, knowledge of flora & fauna and human body, seasons and whatever is in market.
C) Eggs, cheeses, fishes

5.8 this morning. Would prefer it lower but it wasn’t so long ago I was despairing of ever getting into the 5s so I’ll take it.
@ianpspurs I used to plan weekly menus - its a habit I had to get into when I was working with a young family, and quite a good way to do it - shopping is quicker that way. However now I have more time and less money I go shopping daily ( good for step count too) and pick up whatever looks nice with a yellow sticker, then work around it.

Do you analyse that at all and if so anything beyond carbs? PM an answer if that is more private. I am interested for myself as I think there are minerals and vitamins missing from how I follow this WOE that once incorporated via diet would make me much happier and healthier.
