What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I picked up my re-made glasses 4 hours ago. They're still not right. If I pull them way down to the very tip of my nose I can see fairly well out of them but then they not only tickle my nose and squeeze my breathing, they pull on my ears. I don't know why, in the 21st century, it is impossible to do an eye exam, get it right, and make lenses properly. But this time I will keep the frames, and, when I have some extra money (haha) take the frames to a different opticians' and see what they can do.

Hugs for you.
I wish they could get it right for you.
I can understand you not wanting to go back again. It is so frustrating that you are getting nowhere with them.

A friend is helping me at the moment with an Ombudsman for my double fuel company, and I couldn't have done this without another person helping me and guiding me through the process, and we have just got somewhere.

So, I was wondering if there was an opticians Ombudsman. So I just looked online and there are various things, but it also depends which optician's etc. If you feel up to it have a peek. But I can understand if it is just too much to consider. My apologies if I have stepped over the line in suggesting this.

You have been very unfortunate.

Hugs x

@SaskiaKC Sorry to hear the challenges you are facing. HUGS and hopefully things get resolved soon. I went yesterday for just checking my vision and it looks stable.. no changes in glasses.

This morning i was happy to see 5.8 on the meter. Glad to be staying below 6.0. Hopefully soon i get into below 5.5 or into 4s... fingers crossed. Another crazy day at work with corporate world dramas. I think I should stop complaining and learn to live with it somehow... else I will just be a grumpy old man perpetually complaining ...

Happy Tuesday everyone..

Can I wish @Debandez and @ianpspurs happy June birthdays whether they involve spray tans or anythng else that is enjoyed.
Thank you so much. It starts in ernest tomorrow with a meal and a show. One of my favourite restaurants for dinner. Followed by 'les musicals' .....this is what I'm excited about:

Les Musicals Live Concert Tour is the ultimate celebration of Musical Theatre.
Jonathan Ansell (G4 Frontman) and Jai McDowall (Britains Got Talent - Winner) have joined forces to create a dramatic a spine-tingling concert. This vocally dynamic evening showcases even more smash-hit songs from the greatest musicals of all time, brought to you by two of the world's finest voices.
Come and immerse yourself into the world of Musical Theatre with classics from Les Miserables, Phantom Of The Opera, Blood Brothers, Wicked, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Greatest Showman, Miss Saigon, Chess, We Will Rock You and many more…
After sell-out shows in 2018, this is certainly a concert not to be missed in its second exciting.

Happy birthday week. June is naturally the best month for a birthday but I will probably pass on the pampering and spray tan. I have a cousin who has her 50th on the same day as my birthday.
Mine is the 6th but its customary for me to celebrate AĹL month! Happy June birthday to you too @ianpspurs

Good morning everyone. Calm and cool as dawn breaks here on the Coast. Just the weather for yet more boat maintenance. Still no rain. Am using "grey water" from washing dishes etc. to put on my little garden. Could look on the bright side, meaning weeds cannot grow and lawn clippings are negligible!

FBG 6.5 mmo/lt at 0500. I've been awake for an hour so some dawn phenom. may have started. Still, it is a good statistic for me, after all the weeks of 8s and 7s.

Have a great day.

Thank you @gennepher . No line stepped over at all. :) That is a really good idea and I had not thought of it. I will "look into" that tomorrow (and if you would like to post or PM any links... :) ) depending on whether you have time of course!

I ran into a neighbor just going into this opticians' as I was coming out. I advised consulting them "at your own risk."

Thank you. Double hug for the sympathy and for the corporate dramas. :)

5 this morning - very happy with that as I was at the hospital yesterday evening for the eye injection. Not the most pleasant way to spend an evening but with the meditation was able to arrive at the hospital completely free of stress - which does help my fbs.

I did ask the doctor why I was having this problem as my eyes have been so good over the last 3 years and this last 4 months my BS have been the lowest they have ever been. He didn't have an answer - but probably an unfair question as he is not a diabetes specialist.

I had confirmed my name and address and date of birth, for the nurse, and then again for him. I showed my appointment letter to each one. And I was their first patient of that session.
I often feel like they just want to 'process' us like battery hens gennepher...no one will know your eye issues as you do...it infuriates me when they refuse to listen to us & dismiss our concerns...have you considered putting this in writing to set the record straight?

Morning...woke up extra early today at 05:30...paperwork to do then GP's appointment for a medication review...I find them tiresome since the medication I take is long term but them are the rules...my GP is leaving the practice which causes me some anxiety...when I first saw him he was hopeless but after working with him (or possibly working on him) we do have a good doctor/patient relationship...he has been my sole source of continuity since being plunged head first into our health service...he does my diabetes reviews...will call me back & has made space for me to see him before he leaves (despite the receptionist saying no I can't wait to tell her I have half an hour with him:p)...not looking forward to future appointments with nurse Ratched the DSN...woke to a 6.8

Morning all on this warm but overcast day, a 12 greeted me from the meter of doom! That number matches my mood (highly peed off) Doctors last night as I thought I had a sore neck from changing my pillows a couple of months ago. Turns out I have Spondylosis of the cervical spine!! Never rains but it pours at times, X-ray on the old neck this afternoon and more tablets prescribed for the pain (turns out I am a pain in the wife's neck!!) I suppose it will explain away the last few months of not being able to have anyone even so much as look at my neck!! Every cloud and all that.

Take care everyone.

Just which reading do you choose as your fbs when you are up and down all night? First? Last? Something in between based upon time? Here are mine from last nights fun and frolicks:
Midnight - 5.0
0200 - 5.2
0325 - 5.4
0500 - 5.2
0635 - 5.9

Experiment time: I have changed my eating routine - for the past two years I have not had food until noon and then dinner in the evening.
From today, it’s going to be a high protein breakfast and then dinner in the evening.
So, just had two boiled eggs and two chicken wings from yesterday’s roast all washed down with a superb glass of water.
The idea is to use up the morning fuel during the day a la Art De Vany.

Have a great day if you can and I hope that everyone who has pain and or anxiety has a better day today.

Morning All. 6.3 again today on this chilly and overcast morning. Didnt have a great nights sleep but a bit of a slow day today. Just seen the forecast and they have promised me rain again today. Mmm..
@Krystyna23040 glad the injection went well, you need to have a quiet day today.@gennepher and @SaskiaKC sorry for the blurred lines of communication with the medics. @johnpol sending a very gentle hug for the bad back/neck. Good luck with the xray and hope you can manage the pain.
Anyway have a good Tuesday everyone, if you can. Stay well, stay safe.

Well you have an answer johnpool… shameful you had to endure months of pain & disregard before getting the diagnosis...hopefully now they can offer you the appropriate treatment.
