What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Cat food bag. I sent him to the store for some Whiskas and he said "Is that the one in the fuchsia bag?" I was stunned!

Hmm ... actually looks more magenta on my monitor. YMMV

I call that colour Cerise, after my favourite dressing gown...

good evening all :)

was 4.7 this morning

chucking it down all day today though it didn't make much difference because we were indoors all day volunteering. We're hoping that it will settle down before Saturday because mum is getting a visitor. He's up in the Highlands on a fishing trip though so he probably won't care if it rains because it will keep the dreaded highland 'midgies' down :hilarious:

mr gee is feeling a bit better today although still sneezing and snuffling but he says he is definitely feeling better now he's home with a G+T ;)

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

Oh yes they’re the ones the girls have, theirs are just tuna flavoured.

The KittenCat was weaned on Whiskas because it came in a formula for both cats and kittens. But several years ago the stores here stopped carrying the dry Whiskas so we switched to Cat Chow. My store has wet Whiskas in little pouches now and the KittenCat loves it. Plus it has lots of sauce which I love because I think it helps keep things moving (!) for her. ^. .^

Oops! or, Why I Need New Glasses
I was sitting on one side of the bed, folding clothes right out of the dryer. The KittenCat was lying on the other side of the bed, under a hot T-shirt I had just laid over her because, being a cat, she loves hot clean clothes and towels. I realized I was missing a sock, a black sock, same color as the T-shirt I had laid over the KittenCat. I glanced over my shoulder and saw that the KittenCat had left the bed, so I reached back to grab the shirt.

Oops! What I grabbed was furry, and alive! The KittenCat's tail! She had in fact not left the bed but was still lying on it under the black T-shirt. Being mostly black on top and tail she was well camouflaged. Luckily she did not grab me back, or hiss when I started to laugh.

I wonder, if I tell this tale to the glasses-voucher agency, will they agree I really need new glasses and help me try again for a new pair?

No doubt my FBG is just a bit higher right now, as no doubt the KittenCat's is too.

6.3 this morning... a bit disappointed but life goes on... I am also not happy with my Onglyza which I believe is causing muscle pain and some weakness in legs.... i am inclined to stop it though my doctor won’t be happy. I am thinking of having a small serving of whey protein drink - probably half a serving / with main meals. As I understand whey does pretty much what Onglyza does. DPP Inhibitor to increase insulin production. I know we need to address insulin resistance and not just increase insulin production but till i am able to get some insulin sensitivity back (with increased work out), I think whey is probably a better way to generate a bit more insulin than Onglyza. At least i get some protein in and hopefully less side effects. I never imagined managing this would be such a painful balancing act

Hope everyone is having a good day and looking forward to a good weekend

Morning all. Grey dawn breaking. Rain in the forecast again. Good. My lawn is turning more green and the water butt is nearly full. Need a couple of dry days to antifoul my boat.

FBG 7.0 mmo/lt at 0430. Broken sleep at all the excitement of the boat lift-out yesterday, which the boatyard managed very well. No barnacles except on the prop-shaft.

Have a great day everyone.

Poor KittenCat!!!
She must’ve been quite indignant being mistaken for a sock!!!

Is she speaking to you yet or are you still in the cat house...

Definitely why you need new glasses. KittenCat will speak up for you. Put her on the phone next time you speak to the glasses-voucher agency.....

Well, for some miraculous reason my fbg is 9.9 this morning at 5 am despite being in double figures recently with all my stress.

Yesterday I did eat a bit differently. Eggs and cheese first thing as usual, but then had frozen berries/fruits in wine and double cream , but then later realised I had forgotten to put my prescription for meds in, and I couldn’t leave it any longer.

Next door to chemist is fish and chip shop, so I bought a piece of fish and took the batter off, and sat in the car in the car park eating the lovely hot fish flake by flake while watching you tube on my phone. It was delicious!

So, if you saw a batty old lady in a car, in car park, gleefully picking batter off her fish, and eating the fish flakes with her fingers while cheerfully watching You Tube on her phone, then that was me...

I need to find my chopsticks, then maybe I wouldn’t get grease everywhere, and buy some baby wipes...

When I got home I fancied another helping of frozen berries in wine and double cream. So what I thought, my fbg is going to end up higher, I am not going to stress over it. But I had a piece of cheese after it.

Then this morning single figures, the highest end of single figures mind you, but still lower!!!

Happy little dance jig going on here...

Nearly forgot, there were bits of chocolate at various points in the day as well.

Sun predicted this morning so I might do my meditations and then leap out into the garage and clear it out...I have a messy painting project in my head and I have recently used garage as dumping ground, so see if I can do it before 1 pm cos app says rain rain and more rain.

I also need to find my machete, cos my garden grows in all this rain and I seriously need to fight through this jungle to get to the potting shed...Popeye just ducks under everything...

Happy weekend

Be good...or not...

Take care x

UPDATE: I going to do meditation later, I am off out now into the garden and garage to start this clear out. Yes I know it is 5:34 am, but it is time the neighbours were up anyway...

Barnacles on your prop shaft sounds nasty, I do hear that you can get a cream for that now. :)

Thank you for the good wishes on my blood test yesterday it went OK only a small bruise to show for it. I have to wait until next Thursday for a chat with the practice nurse. I have lost 2 stone since I saw her 3 months ago but nothing in the last 2 weeks. I still have 2.5 stones to go any one any ideas how to get it started again. My carb intake is usually under 25g and I don't eat between 6pm and 1 pm the following day. I exercise by walking the dogs 3 times a day.
My electronic buddy must have been tidying up and has found another 5 a 5.4 for me this morning.
Take care

Morning all from the sunny Northeast (unusual to see a ball of flame in the sky up here its normally hidden under a cloud) the figure from the machine of uncertainty was14.4 ……..yes that's right 14.4! I think I will have to adjust my rates on my pump as I have been consistently high all week, but hay ho that's diabetes for you never simple, just when you think you might have a sliver of understanding Poof! Gone! all change! Ah well enough grumbling it's only bloomin Friday! and you all know what that means...……...A weekend full of debauchery and shenanigan's, daring do and utter mischief !! or in my case housework, grass cutting and dog walking! Oh to be young again and able to stay up past 9:30 pm!! Now where is my slippers.

Take care everyone. And have a nice weekend

good morning all :)

4.3 for me this morning

it's looking like lovely sunny morning which is very welcome after the rotten weather we've had here, it's been cold and very wet all week so far. Hopefully the garden will have chance to dry up before mum's visitor arrives :)

I'm expecting to be in the charity shop today which is a bit of a shame given the weather, depends if anyone else turns up though.
Safety guidelines say that we're not supposed to man the shop alone and none of the other volunteers I usually work with are available today, I don't mind being on my own for couple of hours but covering the whole day would be difficult because the stockroom, the kettle and the loo are all upstairs, we shall see ;)

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

Morning folks. @geefull not sure whether to hope another volunteer comes and the shop can open or to hope they don't so you can enjoy the good weather. Either way, great fbs as per. @gennepher a machete is a serious piece of kit, wield it carefully. @Bildad glad blood draw went well and fantastic progress on weight loss - you'll get to that target. Sometimes things stall then suddenly move again. @trick60 and @HarrisonK great fbs chaps, always makes the day seem better when that happens. @johnpol I am just full of admiration for the way you deal with the tribulations of T1. I hope bgs come back to your more normal levels soon.
