Just looked on can and it’s showing quite high carbs.

Is this right or are green lentils ok to eat?

If it says it high carb then it’s high carb. Whether you can eat them depends what level of carbs you allow yourself I guess.

It says 14.9 carbs per half can.
That’s high isn’t it?

It would be shared over 4 meals but I’d use whole can.

Don’t know what else to use in it’s place.

what are you using them in place of? what does the rest of the meal consist of? we may have some ideas to help if we know this.

It’s an old slimming world recipe. Used to love it so thought I’d make it. Obviously without the rice. IMG_0252.jpg

If you sprout it, carbs will decrease.
Then Just fry it with some ghee, red and green chilli, pinch of turmeric put some onion , tomatoes and cucumber , lemon juice, salt. Very tasty.

:) I think you would struggle to sprout tinned lentils. :)

That is just under 7.5 grams of carbs per meal.
That doesn't sound too dangerous to me.

If in doubt, check with your meter to see if it spikes your BG.

You soak them overnight, then you filter the water and keep it covered with in container with some cloth. Depending on the room temperature it will take 2-3 days to sprout.
Sprout are little shoots coming out of seeds. This process even make them more nutritious.
But I am not aware of tinned lentils though, we get dried whole green lentils known as "moong" if that is what your are talking about.

@Cana you need to add up the carbs for the whole recipe, divide by 4 and see if it’s within your carb allowance for a dinner. We all vary so can’t advise if it’s good or bad for you. Most importantly if you go ahead with it test before and after to see if it suits you.
