Type 1'stars R Us

Morning all!

I do admit, I love the fact I can wear jeans and T-shirts at work and they are, in fact, deemed the most sensible workwear in Current Main Paid Workplace. Previous Main Paid Workplace had a ban on jeans, even for those of us who worked in the various workshops and were covered up with boiler suits all day, except when in the canteen.

I think I've finally caught up with the work I missed out on whilst off sick...
Glad you're better.
Working from home I tend to work in dressing gown until lunch. Today it's the usual smart trousers

Good morning all
Bloods had a wobbly while I was bowling last night, dropped to 2.8 (with a confirmation finger prick!) then rose to 13 with just 3 jelly babies. I know why it happened. Tea was toad in the hole and I did not do a dual wave bolus for it.....must remember for next time :)

@Knikki for PM.....could take cake to Brussels to get us a deal on Brexit BUT must NOT eat it in front of anyone!!!
@Japes same for me, I am a receptionist in a garage, toady I have shorts on......defo NOT a dress @helensaramay :wideyed::wideyed::wideyed:

Good morning, but late on parade today  I didn't hear my alarm, or it didn'r go off, so I looked at my clock qt 6.45am, normally up at 6, so a mad rush to get ready for pick up at 7am, took Novorapid at home, but drunk my yogurt in the minibus, it was just me and the driver and no tea either :arghh::bigtears: but just made up for that :) ahhhhhhh
No run this afternoon as I have an appointment to attend  plus the sun is shining brightly and it's warm too.
Happy Thursday guys :)

If they need a teacher @Mel dCP they have a clear ethical choice: a good tatt teacher or feral kids in every nook and cranny. Let us know what they choose

Oh good grief. RE and Music. Vicar daughter training coming in quite handy! And as I was reading them a chapter of the book we’re doing every day this week, my phone yells URGENT HIGH GLUCOSE as my liver became super useful and did a glucose dump. Thanks for that. Still, learning opportunity and all that so I told them all about type one diabetes, showed them my tech and now they think I’m the Terminator. Especially as I’ve handed out three detentions already :D

I have to say another month where my period and diabetes are friends, but two months ago they were at war with each other for 1.5 weeks. 6.2 at the moment, lunch is soon :)
Beautiful day, so I'll drop off my prescription soon and possibly be cheeky and buy more oreo thins. :D

So university wants me to resubmit for August and then after I assume I'm moving onto the final year. Oh that sounds exciting, but when I read the outline, my brain shut off and diabetes is running around screaming. :hilarious:

Hmmm. Strange.
6.4 before bed. Woke up 7.9 before breakfast. Just been swimming for an hour then gone up 8.8. Mind u I had a go ahead biscuits before I went. But surely swimming would have lower my bloods?

Hello, you'll have to look into dawn phenomena for the mornings and exercise can go either way for diabetics - high or low. 8.8 isn't too shabby though.

I received the letter from my consultant that he wrote to my GP on the medication and regime changes. My period self is quite emotional and he ended the letter on "she has not many any significant changes". I'm a bit hurt y'know, was he expecting me to completely eradicate hypos, hypers and erratic numbers within 10 weeks? I've only learned about different ratios for different meals from this forum in the last few weeks. My ratio 1:1 was hammered into my head since 2006/7 and during DAFNE because they thought it works for me.
But anyway I was correct in saying he would prescribe the sensors for 6 months and he'll review my control after 6 months. Whether he would permanently prescribe it, I don't know.
I'll go curl up into a ball and nom on oreos while shedding tears. :hilarious:

Late on parade and work, had to take this morning off last minute, to take one of the cats to the vet, he's pretty sick at the mo but treatable apparently - can't say the same about my credit card though! Funny in that the vet said his (the cats!) BG was slightly raised but at this stage not a concern, of what is more of a concern was the results of one of the blood tests, ideal the result should be around 15, the cat? 200+! So the vet goes on to tell me about what that means and if I've heard of the pancreas.........:woot::hilarious:

Cats staying at the vets for the night at least, see how he responds to treatment - and I just hope they don't give us tablets to give him, this one's a real PITA for tablets!

This morning I was able to get the mower and the strimmer out and give the lawns a good going over and strim and edge the areas I don't normally bother doing! It makes such a difference - wouldn't look out of place on the front cover of some glossy stately home magazine (as the care takers cottage before anyone says anything!). Oh and the weather helps.

@slip - hope your cat is OK. I always think that vet charges show us what we don't pay in medical bills!

Seem to have lost a day somewhere, been frantically busy as I'm going on holiday tomorrow for a week. On the way back I'm going to look at a litter of puppies which will by then be three weeks old....I may be forced to choose one....and then wait at least 5 weeks until she's old enough to come home with me....

@slip I had the bill for my dog's emergency treatment on Friday night. I need to get an extra job. Hope your cat is okay, not good having to wait on recovery.

Cheers @hh1, he the cat currently owes me £415 - he better get better!

Good luck with puppy selection, what breed? And I LOL'd at the ".....I may be forced to choose one...."
