I have Asperger Syndrome which is an autism spectrum condition and a full diagnosis of Adult ADHD which are characterised by impairments in social communication, social interaction and social imagination. I also have a rigid and somewhat unpredictable routine. I also experience obsessive rituals, some a bit overwhelming. But I have a talent in articulate creative writing skills and possess a photographic rote memory. I have sensory sensitivity and get upset by loud noises, bright colours or lights, and notice the texture and consistency of certain foods more making my dietary choices extremely limited or restricted to certain food components. I dislike conflict and lies. The Adult ADHD also makes me very moody and cross.
Oh @JohnnyBaker87 how are you today?
Hello @ickihun. I am very well and will be moving some time to my specialist supported housing establishment some time in mid August. At my next meeting with my care coordinator I am going to meet my shared lives key worker called James and he is going to talk me through moving. My blood sugar is better tonight at 6.8. I cooked and ate jerk chicken wings today and am gentle low carving.

@ickihun how are you getting on after your op?
I've lost 7kgs but past few days nothing. However swollen tummy again after too much walking. Not seeing bariatric Unit til end of July. Which gives me time to continue treating my IBS. The sugary tablets are ok with the Roux-en-y op. The gallbladder stones prevention med has given me loose tum. By process of elimination.

Oh no! I can imaging. Mr ickihun has a bad hip now. He does all housework at the moment. Just up from sleep.

Poor man .For once Ron hasn’t been to sleep today . Not that he’s sleeping much anyway .

He's told me he enjoys normal level of housework but not when kids are off. So we hv organised a break each. Mine will depend on how I'm feeling. Not up to traveling without help as only 2wks after my op. Im hoping I will by mid August. I'll be upset if I cannot hv a break away. My life has been on hold due to pain and lack of energy. I hv loads of catching up to do.

I'm so sorry to hear about Mr Ickihun, @ickihun. Prayers are ongoing for him. And I'm praying for your back, Tina and for lovely Ron. And I'm praying for myself as I have another UTI. My GP found white cells in my urine recently. Blood sugar was 8.6 this morning

You are going to flourish once you're settled in your new home and structured eating @JohnnyBaker87. I know you are doing your best, in fact you are doing a good job. If my son can cope as well as you then I'd be very very proud of him. ;)

Good morning my friends on type 2 life,

My blood glucose was 11.7 this morning after taking my metformin and my Lixisenatide. I've eaten two tins of Sainsbury's basics chili con carne - no carbohydrates or starch!

I've managed to keep my hba1c below 42 for over six months now. When I ask my doctor about that, he just replies, I don't have Diabetes anymore and other variations of no-answer. No feedback on what I've achieved so far and what a hba1c below 30 in 4 months means.

It's like they won't talk about it, and/or really don't know what this means. No talks about remission or any interest in further study of my achievement.

At least in the UK remission is being studied. But not here. Kind of frustrating. You wan't to do well, and when you do, you're on your own. It feels like the "system" only is interested in the cases, where they can pump out medication, and if you stick out, you're seen as one who will likely fall back into diabetes 2 and high hba1c again.

Sorry for letting the frustrations out here.

Ron has drs in morning for a check up to see how he’s been on the antidepressants. Also today he’s had trouble walking . It’s been so painful that he’s mostly been sat down . Still having to go to bed in the afternoon.

Tina - I've probably asked you before, but has Ron been tested for Coeliac?

You guys have been dealt a really rubbish hand.

No he hasn’t and to be honest I don’t think I could cope being told he has something else as well . He’s still not sleeping right . At the moment he’s in bed but awake . I’ve now resorted to sleeping on the sofa .
