Insulin. (Takes over my life)
Would not eating after getting insulin help make it lower?
I know this is a stupid question, but it's a legit one. Because I can't get my sugars lower than 16 even though I have a lot of insulin.
And what do you do when your diabetes specialist is out of town and your NP is on vacation for the rest of the month, and you've been having more than 4 high blood sugars today?

Hello, are you feeling better?
If I took insulin, didn't eat and depending on BG level, I might either go hypo or be somewhere stable. But in your case, you might be slightly insulin resistant because your of high levels or depending on type of diabetes, some are insulin resistant and require more insulin. So it is difficult to say because you can potentially putting your life at risk. Is there anyone else you can contact? I know my diabetes centre has 4 nurses, if one isn't around another nurse will contact me.

We've literally tried to call everyone today. The nurses don't know what to do. And my blood sugar went down to 19.0 so it's a good thing. Even if I go to the Emergency Department, depending on if they give me insulin + i.v. fluids my sugar still won't really go down. And the last two times I went to the hospital for high sugars, (which were over 34 both times) I went into v-fib. Don't really want to be hooked up to the monitor and have the monitors go all crazy and loud beeping comes on. I'm not 100% but close enough. I've had an evening snack. Possibly check it one more time before bed.

Sending you lots of hugs and I'm sorry you going through this. I find it a bit odd that they've released you so soon, I know some hospitals won't like you go until your BG levels are in normal range. You really need to pester them for more information when you get through to them. You need more control over your condition and being this high is unacceptable. Of course something needs to be done about your diagnosis, whether you're type 1, 2 or 1.5 etc.

They usually say the NP or Family Doctor has to order it. I heard that if you're diagnosed with type 1.5 there's certain treatments to treat it better? Not to cure it, but to manage it?

As far as I'm aware type 1.5 is treated the same as type 1, so with insulin.

Yeah it would be nice to get a proper diagnosis. I'm kinda going nuts, I'm blaming myself every day even though I've picked up the exercise and changed my diet to the diet they put me on. I'm taking my diabetic medications and my insulin. Is it normal to feel like you want to stop trying? Especially when it's been going on for 6 months.

Please don't blame yourself, I understand the anger, resentment, sadness etc, I really hope you get an answer and the help you need as soon as possible. It is normal to feel that way, but you've come this far now and you need to be firm and keep pushing for help. Do you see anyone to talk about your feelings? like a therapist? It may help and you're not alone in this club.

Echoing what @MeiChanski is saying here, it's best not to blame yourself and just keep on pushing for all the tests because then you will have answers to use in the future. Never discount the power of getting some emotional help, I just dealy hope that things get better for you.

@ElizaChota Proper diagnosis makes all the difference as mentioned above. The fact you are running so high frequently and no one is questioning your diagnosis needs to be addressed asap. Don't take no for answer. Best of luck to you.

V-fib???!!! Are you sure? Maybe A-fib? If I was V-fib x 2 I would have some serious cardiac members on my team, and would be super pro-active getting to hospital when I had any cardiac symptoms.

Get some proper help. Never take no for an answer, get the GAD and C-peptide tests you need and go from there. They're being rather casual with your life, don't let them! *hugs*

Just for now, are you able to test your blood or urine for ketones? HIgh sugars plus high ketones require an urgent visit to accident and emergency, as DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis) can kill you.
