What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hugs for the shoulder pain Saskia, it’s very frustrating when you don’t know the cause or how to fix it. Can you rest it properly for a couple of days?

Thank you. I think I will let it be my excuse for not doing any housework for the next few days. :)
I'm glad you are feeling better and are back here posting again!

Please let me know if this works. :)

How are you feeling by now?

Yes, this one works!!!

I feel better than I did earlier.
I felt lousy earlier with the flu jab.
I am hopeful it may have eased off by tomorrow.
But it was a bit scary earlier.

Going to sleep now hopefully..it's 8 pm...

Night from me and Popeye...

I love the music! I think we should have a contest to come up with "translations" of the captions -- I feel sure they are very eloquent. :D

His translation is a little cute though, isn't it :)

I love the cat's eyes...

I want to say that I hope you sleep better than you did last night ... OTOH I want to say can you wake yourself up every couple of hours as a wellness check? The itchiness concerns me. Can you breathe properly? No swelling?

Yes @SaskiaKC I can wake up every couple of hours.
I can breathe okay. No swelling anywhere. I have inhalers for my asthma anyway.
Thank you for your concern Saskia

1st class work Krystyna...well done.
Thank you @HarryBeau. It was such a relief to have passed. It is definitely the last exam I am going to take as it was such hard work. Am relaxing with a coffee listening to my old chocolate Labrador howling like a a wolf in his sleep. He does this occasionally - he really does sound like a wolf.

I think it’s a perfect excuse to give the housework a miss. I may stop again in sympathy with you.
Thank you for your kind words

I dont like the sound of this year’s flu shot..
@PenguinMum Hopefully you won't get any side effects. Maybe I was allergic this year to something in the flu shot. I do have allergies to various things which can be quite annoying. I can't even celebrate my exam pass with a glass of wine because I am allergic to wine. How sad is that!

I do hope the treatment for your eye goes well.

22:38 in U.K.
BP okay
Pulse okay
BG normal too
1st check in to @Saskia
Going back to sleep...

Copy that, Popeye?

Carry on. ^. .^

Hi @SaskiaKC
Sorry, I actually was in a deep sleep.
Very unusual for me
All okay
All readings good, BP, Pulse, BG etc which helps to reassure.
Still can feel the flu jab symptoms, but not as much as yesterday
Especially can feel the fine pins and needles on left side, and the toes and fingers of the right side
The headache has nearly gone
More iboprofen
Itchiness is still there a bit, will take an antihistamine later
Sorry if I worried you
But was having lovely deep sleep
Catch you later
Take care
Popeye sends his love
>^..^<

UPDATE
An online friend tells me she had swollen eyes after the flu jab, aching muscles, and a headache, and her symptoms came on about 4 hours after the jab and lasted about 36 hours. She also says, same as me that she has never had any symptoms before, in previous years, with the flu jab.

My symptoms didn’t come on immediately, and I think it was about 4 hours after my flu jab as well before they began.

Am awake now so having a cuppa then trying for sleep again. By the way I feel better from the flu adverse effects if I keep moving. If it’s not raining when I wake up, if I manage sleep again, then I will go and garden for a wee bit first thing. But I still need a bit more sleep in the meantime. .

@SaskiaKC
My online friend says ‘This is the first time I've gotten the stronger "senior" dosage, so maybe that's why’

Research tells me the flu jab is not so effective for the over 70’s.

I wasn’t told I had a stronger jab. Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. I don’t know. But if I did, then maybe that is why I am having adverse effects this year when I have never had adverse effects at all before.

UPDATE EDIT
I found this: ‘A flu jab reaction tells a person that they didn't have any antibodies against the flu. The dead virus in the vaccination triggers the person’s immune system to attack the dead virus, thus making more antibodies to fight an illness.’
I have no idea if this is true or not.

The pharmacy tech today asked me (again) if I'd had my flu shot yet. I replied (smiling), "Not yet, not ever." I told her about my online friends getting theirs and then getting itchy all over, with water eyes, and she looked about like I've felt reading these reports of side effects.

Did I mention that I have started to dream in emoticons? I had a dream last night, and another during a nap this evening, in which every character was an emoji.

Woke up at silly-o-clock, bloods were 6.0 and now I'm wide awake I want to go to sleep. So I will do because I'm a bad example of a human, have fun ;)

Morning all sorry for the absence I have been teaching all week and no time to really post/read anything I will send hugs to those that need it and well done to everyone regardless of need as you live with diabetes and deserve a well done! Not much to report really BS's not really behaving themselves, Doomy is still ruling the roost swanning about with his swagger and intimidating the kettle! Two sets of six days in a row makes for a unhelpful fellow at the minute (and unable to train either so even more miserable) but on the Brightside...………..Its the WEEKEND!!! Rugby, Ale, Crisps, Nuts, more crisps and even more crisps!! well in actual fact work, cleaning and maybe, just maybe I might get to watch a game when I get back in from work.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.
