What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Woke to 6.1 today after trying some of a new variety of butcher’s home made sausages for tea yesterday. Put me up >2 mmol so won’t be having those again sadly.
@johnpol I love the image of a 30kg bulldog leaping like a salmon. Well done for the amount of money you raised.
@HarryBeau make sure you leave some room for your sofa amongst all the cat toys. I know exactly that excitement of getting all the new lovely bits and bobs for the new arrivals ( who will obviously refuse to go near any of it!)

Tuesday and up and out quite early in the bright yet chilly morning.
The wonder wheel of possibilities and dead in a ditch false promises whisked up a 5.4 yesterday and then a quite strange yet perversely endearing 3.9 this am, wonder if it was that pumpkin soup last night.

Anyhow, despite all the extra exciting goings on with this site over the the past 24 hours, I just sat, immobile, at the kitchen table, quietly and awaited it’s return. Luckily I had salted popcorn and a photograph of a big tub of Hagen Dazs strawberries and cream signed by Virginia Wade to keep me nourished.

Hope everyone enjoyed the rugby, all the daft procrastinating and gerrymandering in that other place and are pleased that the clocks went back to wherever clocks go back to (or too, or two). I blame the SNP, stealing our light without a bye your leave.

I enjoyed watching Wales until that last field goal(term?).

Having received no heads-about the site maintenance, I kept trying to log in and wondering why the site had suddenly become a Forbidden Zone to which I had no right of access. It promised me "something exciting" when back up ... I'm just happy we have all come back, like happy horses when the pasture gate is opened again ...

We're .... back!

OK, I DO NOT like the "surprise." I can't post pics nor can I edit my post. Grrrrrrrrrrrr ................. :(

Whoo finally! good afternoon all :)

Sunday 4.3, Monday 4.3 and today ...erm. 4.3 ;)

I couldn't get onto the site at all the last couple of days, even before the 'scheduled' down time arrived :sorry:

I'm just glad to be back here with you all :joyful: , anyone know what the 'surprise' is?

Hope your day is treating you well :)

I couldn't access the site for a day and a half. I'd received no warning about the "scheduled" maintenance so I thought there was something wrong with the site or with my computer.
As far as I can tell, the "surprise" is that we can no longer post pictures in the threads. I just tried to post some, and I had to do it the slow, old-fashioned way, by posting a link to the picture's web address, and after all that one of the pics did not post at all. When I tried to go back and edit, it would not let me.
Not a nice surprise at all. :(
I am NOT happy with this result of the "maintenance."

It's as dark now as it was when I got up to a 5.2 at 5 am. Since then been a wonderful ramble with Mrs MC over the heathland and Beech tree lined bridleways and of course our Labrador came along also. I took loads of lovely pictures BUT on returning discovered I had not put the memory card in the camera, some things are just not meant to be captured.

@SaskiaKC I had no idea the site was being maintained either, quite a surprise being locked out, maybe that was/is the surprise :).

So good evening all.

They did announce it on Twitter Saskia but no everybody tweets...I did wonder why they hadn't announced it on site.. maybe they had but I didn't see one.

I didn’t know either HarryBeau and @SaskiaKC it does seem an odd decision to announce on Twitter but not on here.

I haven't figured Twitter out yet.
ETA: I'm kind of in the same place as the TV character I heard the other night who had missed out on some current news. His friend said "It was all over Twitter," to which he replied, "I don't Twit." :D

Evening all, Manic madam is totally erratic BG 7.8 this morning and rose to an astounding 10.3 after lunch dropping like a stone to 3.6 before. Apart from that, I've had a great day in the garden, done a lot and the difference can't be seen. Masses of bulbs still to plant so hoping the weather stays fine.

The Pre-Raphaelite, The Sisterhood exhibition, is well-worth a viewing, really informative and well put together. I'm considering the Tutankamun exhibition in November
