Why are the fish dinner blood sugar values high here?

My Dinner blood sugar after two hours the last five days:
Saturday: Fried Trout 180g, 7.8mmol/L
Sunday: Fried Trout 140g, 7.2mmol/L
Monday: Beef Menudo 180g, 6.6mmol/L
Tuesday: Beef Kaldereta 200g, 6.8mmol/L
Wednesday: Piri piri Chicken 180g, 6.6mmol/L

From tesco.com website:
100g trout: 0 carbs, 13g fat, 22g protein, 600mg Omega-3
100g stewing beef: 0 carbs, 14g fat, 19g protein
100g chicken: 0 carbs, 1g fat, 29g protein

All dinners at 6pm with:
100g celeriac mash: 6g carbs
50g boiled broccoli: 4g carbs
No sauce
The trout, beef and chicken contain 0 carbs and the dinner quantities are similar so I thought the blood sugar values would be similar too.

What may be the cause(s)?

what are you frying in? maybe try baking the fish in the oven with some butter rather than frying?

Shallow fried in Sainsbury's 'Extra Virgin oil product of Spain' (carbs <0.5g/100ml) for 7-10 minutes.

What were your starting BG levels? Are the higher post fish levels also bigger rises? Anything else going on those days?

But it looks like your glucose levels were all within around 1mmol difference so fairly similar? It's not an exact science and other things can influence the readings as well. Also a glucometer isn't massively accurate. Do you know what level you started off with for each meal? If you don't test that then comparing the after dinner results with each other won't make sense. For example if you were at 7 before the trout and 7.8 afterwards, the trout was good, if you were at 5 before the trout and 7.8 afterwards then that tells you something else. x

You have to do before and after reading.

Btw, beef menudo and kaldereta sound yummy!

It was the weekend.

You probably had a completely different routine, from time of eating, activity levels, rest levels, relaxation levels, other food eaten throughout the day... it all has an impact.

All the results are within 1 mmol/L. I really see no issues? Or am I just insensitive to such a small difference in readings?

I don't know porl69 but my readings can be a 1mmol difference taken on the same finger 2 minutes apart!

Many thanks for your kind reponses.

I have had diabetes for at least 2 years and measured fasting blood sugar and blood sugars before and after meals the first 2 months. That helped to identify foods I could eat and what to put on daily menus:

6am breakfast: eggs, bacon, cheese, ham, sausages,..
9am Cream coffe: Instant Coffee + 3 tbsp double cream
12noon lunch: sausage-omelette, Bratwurst, Quarter pounder (<0.1g carb), cod, sardines, 100g Greek yogurt, raspberries, strawberries...
2pm Cream coffe: Instant Coffee + 3 tbsp double cream
6pm dinner: beef, pork, chicken, fish, celariac/cauliflower mash, broccoli, raspberries, strawberries
(a comma above means and/or)
With this daily menu dinner blood sugars are usually 6.0-7.0mmol/L and always below 7.8mmol/L.
A bit monotonous maybe, but it works.

Here are today's (12 December) blood sugars before and after eating
Lunch 12noon:
2 85g Dulano Chilli Bratwurst sausages (each 1g carb, LIDL):
100g Greek yogurt (4g carb,Tesco):
Before-eating: 6.3mmol/L
2-hours after eating: 6.6mmol/L
and Dinner 6pm:
180g chicken
100g celeriac mash: 6g carbs
50g boiled brussel sprouts: 2g carbs
Before-eating: 5.8mmol/L
2-hours after eating: 6.9mmol/L

@Brunneria: maybe the higher than expected values last Saturday and Sunday were caused by a really bad flu I caught on Friday and that I had until yesterday; not by the trout (that I had never eaten before). We will try to buy trout again from the same shop and measure before and after. Should be interesting!

Btw, My diabetes has not gone away. A slice of white bread or 200g white rice or 200g potatoes sends the blood sugars to 10-14mmol/L and a sachet Quaker Oats followed by a sandwich from M&S/supermarkets result in 16mmol/L two hours after eating.

That could well be. Viruses, illness, bodily stresses like tiredness and pain often affect blood glucose.
Glad you have another piece of the puzzle :)

Yesterday dinner was 140g salmon (nutrition almost same as trout), 100g celeriac and 50g broccoli and the blood sugar was 6.6mmol/L.
Blood sugar was 7.2mmol/L of 140g fried trout about a week ago when I had flu. The flu probably caused the higher value.
