What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Our second move was from a ground level flat to an Edwardian house and our King bed base would not go up the stairs.
My old flat was in a huge Georgian Terrace lower ground floor nothing would go down or up the staircase fortunately we had a garden (unheard of on the A23) so could bring the furniture through the garden doors...otherwise we'd have been sitting on orange boxes.

Good morning/evening folks, a 6.7 on the dice, I'm hoping the high 6 is due to the strip being the last one out of the pot and nothing to do with the chip butty I had for tea.
Have a lovely day all.
Edit:- Forgot to press post this morning :wacky:

Chip butty eh, you lucky devil, hope it was white bread o_O

Had a bit of an accident with my laptop, my fault . Screen was dicey and kept sticking and fading. I got fed up with holding my thumb at the side of the screen to get it to work. I decided I would try to fix it. Now don't have a workable screen duh!. Need to have another try at fixing it--my eyes are just not good enough to connect the screen connector, get it fixed by a professional or buy a new device. I like the 3rd option the best - any excuse! Currently using a really old Windows 7 machine which has a knackered keyboard, Wasn't worth fixing at the time but pleased I kept it. Having to use an external keyboard which is a pain as having to switch between mouse and alternate keyboard when I want to do anything. Typing on proper keyboard comes out something like this... ty[[[lnd,s3ts3,tj;ltjs3/

After admitting to that piece of stupidity back to FBGs which were 5.5 this morning.

Oh poor thing he obviously is trying hard to protect his home & you...he's in one piece that's the most important thing it will take him a while to settle down...I think he'll use the tray after all cats like to be clean...bless him he has his pride...hope he has a restful night...I had a lockable cat flap in London have you considered one of them long term?

I need to find out what I can do for that cat flap. It is broken now, so I will explore what is available. You could lock it, but Popeye could still force it open, but then he couldn't get back in if he did that.

If only it were a wooden door, then I could make a proper lockable cat flap myself..

Not sure what sleep I will get tonight. I am going to be checking on him each time I wake up. He is safe enough in the kitchen, just going back to check on him now...

Great fbg but shame about the laptop issues. Do you check your bg before/after food just curious if the laptop stress has affected things. Best wishes.

I just wonder Gennepher he is a very clever boy and I dont know if your current one is one you can lock one way if you need. Eg if he is out you lock to a point where he can get in to safety but not back out again and vica versa. They are wary of safety as Bobbie amazed me last year when dropping her off at the boarding cattery she escaped but after running around she came back to her cat carrier for safety.

Today's painting inspired by walking dog, sunset and footpath. Moet, walked to vets poor old soul. We noticed he was bumping into things then today he rushed into the house from out of the garden but the door was closed and he crashed into it. Outcome at Vets is he thinks he's gone blind, so we have a 13 year old blind Labrador, Vet thinks he will manage with smell and hearing, further tests being done because vet thinks he's also Diabetic. Poor Mrs MC now's got two of us in the house to cope with.

Here is the painting, watercolour A5 25 minutes, unfinished....

Good question, and one I have often asked myself. I can usually manage with woodwinds; harmonicas, on the other hand ...
I wish you success with it. If Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger can do it ... and don't forget the original Stones bluesman, Brian Jones

Soooooo difficult, BUT I have managed to play along with Little Red Rooster, managed bends, blues scales and learnt what was meant by a one four octave blow. I think I might get the hang of this eventually. Also been trying it on my fiddle, so I might get to play both when we perform it. How is your guitar playing doing? Be sure not to forget it when you move.

Arrrgggghhh ..........
I have to get together copies of my bank statements for the last 6 months. No problem, I thought -- I know right where they are!
Checking account statements -- check. No problem. As expected.
Savings account statements -- check folder --- aarrrggghh!!!!!????
Nothing since last August!!!!!????!!!
I knew they had been coming irregularly but figured that was just the way it was. But last August!!???!
So I called the bank.
Seems I'm not set up to receive statements in the mail.
WHAT? So why was I getting them for 8 months strainght?
And why hadn't I realized it had stopped? I asked myself.
Call the branch, I'm told.
Branch -- new bank officer of course the one who knows me is out to lunch (only literally!) and the manager who was there at Christmas has of course moved on ...
Very nice new bank officer says he will talk to Ms. ____ who knows me and call me back.
Branch normally charges $5 per statement. OK, I say, but bank should have been sending statements all along as I obviously WAS set up to receive them ...
I have tried, we have tried, he, she, it has tried, to set me up for online banking but the website has NEVER accepted any PIN they gave me, and only blocked me from all access after I tried, they tried, it tried.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr ............

As I confessed to the bank, I should have noticed this before now. Sssssiiiiiiggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh ....

Poor old Moet. I am so sorry. I hope he can learn to adapt, as a onetime boyfriend's elderly Poodle did; she knew her way around his house, so got around just fine, dropping teeth here and there ...
How is Moet's name pronounced, please?

I see a Lab's face in your painting, in the clouds ...

That is a stunning little scene.
Poor Moet.
Hugs.

Banks are a law to themselves.
Hope you can sort it.

Oh, bless me, for I have lapsed ...
It has been about 3 days since I last played my guitar ...
I have no excuse ... but it seems as if the music in me has been hibernating ... I don't know if it's the SSRI, which has seemed to kill other creativity (the last time I played the piano, at Christmas, was just weird ...) or if it's just ennui (since we've been being European and seem to be being French today ... )

Congratulations on your harmonica playing -- sounds to me as if you are already getting the hang of it.
The fiddle is another instrument like the harmonica, for me, just can't get much of a tune out of either, or a viola ...

OK, I am going to take inspiration from your harmonica-fiddle work, and not allow my ennui to do a Jagger-Richards on any Brian Jones tendencies I might have ...

@SaskiaKC hugs for the paper chase frustrations. Know these all too well.
MrSlim And I have been married 27 years, for our residency application I have to provide my birth certificate, first marriage certificate and decree absolute. As well as current marriage certificate. We have moved multiple times in the intervening years. Somewhere there are several boxes marked paperwork. And I will be applying in my maiden name. Why? I
Yesterday FBG 6.2 had breakfast CWC and nut granola. Hour later BG 6.6.
This morning FBG 6.4 Same breakfast as yesterday. Hour later BG 7.9
Wish my body would be a little more predictable.

I want one with a padlock!!!!

This one did lock one way (either way), and both ways, but Popeye would force it. So it was safer to leave unlocked in the end. Depending on what cat flaps I can find available, I may just tape the current whole thing up with butyl tape thus blocking access, and Popeye is going to have ask during the day to go out, or he can use my bedroom window....

Glad Bobbie made her way back.

Moet as in Champagne because he is Champagne coloured. I think he will be fine, just an old man a bit like me. :)

EDit.. sorry meant to say BANKS! Same this side of the Atlantic. Keep up the music it's good for the soul.

Bank all OK. I spoke with bank manager, who has not moved on despite what new guy told me. He will print statements and I will pick them up tomorrow morning.
Now I just have to renew my driver's license and I think a neighbor will drive me. The other neighbor seems to have disappeared ...
And a mystery solved just now at the grocery store, where I finally went to escape all the paperwork. I now know what PG Tips are! I have seen them wirh my own eyes! :D
