What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@gennepher what a horrible experience for Popeye and you. Do you think it was a fox? I am glad he seems to be recovering well. I dont know if Popeye is micro chipped but mine are and our catflap will only admit our animals. Of course if they are out they must fend for themselves but I choose to lock the catflap just before dark and reopen it in the morning when it is light. We are rural and foxes, badgers, deer and who knows what else cross our garden in the dark. Hope Popeye continues to feel better.

Thanks @PenguinMum

I don’t know if it was fox or feral cat or another animal. It was daylight when it happened.

No Popeye is not microchipped. He was born in 1992 before you did such things. Then with him being older I was worried how it might adversely affect an older cat. There were some bad reports at the time about 10 years ago of badly done micro chipping injuring cats or worse when he was 17. So I didn’t. But I wasn’t expecting another 10 years from him and him still going strong.

It wouldn’t have made any difference yesterday because whatever it was, apparently got him the moment he put his head out of the cat-flap, and the cat flap was broken because of his battle to rescue himself.

Obviously every time I am out now, he will be locked in my bedroom, and night time will be the wooden chest in front of the cat flap. But that would still have made no difference for yesterday afternoon.

He is on my bed now, making a fuss of me! And I am hugging him!

They do put us through it gennepher… however worried we are about them we still have to allow them to be hunter/gatherers/protectors...isn't it a relief when we know they're okay & safe.

Yes @HarryBeau that is true.

He has now gone between the blanket fleeces on my bed. And is purring. I will be asleep too in bit catching up on sleep. I can relax now...

up WAAY too early :arghh::arghh::arghh: (5 am)

No real reason..so tea and test..Only a Blooming McGarrett...:D..

Happy days yesterday, scooter sale went well
( *motorised version*..NOT the E-Scooters that i see EVERYWHERE.... illegal as they are..Still want one :wacky:)

So what should have been a 30 min run home became a shake down ride, for 3 hours, JUST to be sure., As ya do.;)

No real issues, a few things to attend to..Amazon contacted for a few bits today tomorrow,
feels weird, even though i ride everywhere overseas on one, being HERE doing it.
but Hey Ho..i liked it, it did what it said on the advert tin, so happy on that score.

Lauren, likes the look of it..already talking of our first trip out..so all good in da hood.

As an Omen, ..not attended to Motorcycle for a while..:sorry:....some scumbag, has taken something to the ignition and ripped out the cylinder...<furious emoji>..

so have to find and replace that before i can sell on..i'm taking that as a sign...
(it's a nice neighbourhood,
BUT it IS London )
That the bikes time has come, sadly

Not sure what to do today that isn't Pampering or a little TLC of the new addition to the Raak family
apart from a long leisurely ride out somewhere ..(Weather looks like it won't rain too much IF it does even start).

off to coast (car) tomorrow..laurens G/f's mum has bought wardrobe, can i go put together...so I've been volunteered.
Don't mind, gets me off the hook for today, as i ain't doing Nuffink but playing Sting..:hilarious:

Outdone by @Muddy Cyclist and his famous 'Last Words'...
So won't even try to match his quality wordage.

Suffices for me to say hope you all have a good one, today.
So sorry about the m/c ignition damage.
Stupid idiot/s.
Take care.

Just taken a photo of Popeye asleep on my tummy and between my fleeces. But the orange blanket he is sleeping on reflected in his eye and made it look bloodshot, and it's not! So I altered the shot to black&white!

Putting my steam eye mask on now....and sleep...bye for now...

Do you ever think you are losing it. I was really tired before Christmas as the Autumn term had been really hectic and I had had no real summer break because I had done course work and exams. I ordered 25 bars of Montezumas in December and husband put them on the top shelf of the cupboard for me.

I promptly completely forgot they were there and ordered another 25 bars which arrived yesterday. I was so shocked to find I now have 50 bars of 100% chocolate - a huge stash. I couldn't remember ordering the bars before Christmas - but I checked my records and I definitely did order them on 6th December. Really scary.

Good 90 day average young sir, the bigger picture reference is well aimed and pleased last night was so convivial. For you and the longer term carnivores I felt this article (minus the shameless plugs) was useful https://www.theguardian.com/food/20...e-ethical-guide-to-eating-meat-eggs-and-dairy .
@karen8967 another great fbg - all seems to be going well lately as far as they are concerned. @PenguinMum 10 cal jelly and sweetener? I tend to think that is a prime example of how the no-carbinistas have overplayed their hand in some areas and a similar reckoning awaits.
thanks ian numbers are settling nicely post pump

I have a routine for these two PM...they have a bedtime & follow me upstairs for treats...then it's lock down for the night...I had a cat flap in London but none here...I'm going to keep that up for as long as I can and we're doing recall training with limited trips outside just for a couple of minutes...having more success ATM ( I stress that) than I did with Harry who was visiting last night.

They were upstairs in their room...lots of sniffing when he comes in he knows there's 'someone' else here...similarly when they come down they play hunt the scent...when they're a lot bigger & the weather is warmer no doubt they will meet outside...Churchill had never been with dogs before 'Plumpy' once he got over the surprise he realised what a wuss 'Plumpy' was so just ignored him & and often sat in his basket...fingers crossed for the same result.

Good late Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
Now not being a pet lover more a pet pot fancier, I don't condone unnessaray cruelty to animals and was not happy reading about a pet being savaged.

Well a 7.1 this morning, I shall say thank you and keep the meter under close supervision.

Well folks I have been unsupervised most of this morning and will be most of the afternoon, plans are in place. My plans are secret, but they involve me, me's and my mates chaos and mayhem. In all probability I will be sent to bed early by Mrs J after the neighbours complain again.

A strong North Westerly here today so no Muddy Cycle Rides, a day for getting on leaning the blues harmonica, how can something that looks so easy be so difficult?

Good question, and one I have often asked myself. I can usually manage with woodwinds; harmonicas, on the other hand ...
I wish you success with it. If Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger can do it ... and don't forget the original Stones bluesman, Brian Jones

Good morning from a damp and chilly Fenland. The Tee 2 showed 4.7 around 5.25 this morning but this is about fbg so who knows what I should type and what that number even means? Bg did what the textbook and meter predicted it would this morning. A pity the price of that seems to be enough sleep. Fall asleep quickly but wake too early. Psalm 5 verses 1 and 2 very apt this morning. @SaskiaKC I struggled with a loving , inclusive God fully on board with 1 Timothy 2 11-15. I'm busy preparing to move my tent and praying enough of me will be successfully transplanted. Far worse things happening in the world than relocating 25 miles away but terroir can't be measured in miles it's in one's DNA. Took me well over 30 years and 3 moves to properly recover from South London. Julie's roses in memory of her dad and sister have survived 4 moves so with care the roses and I have 2 more moves in us. We aren't going into slavery in Egypt but .... Have a great day.

I hear ya. 100-mile move for me, and I'm hoping there will be enough of me to pack and move enough of "mine" to manage in the new place. Right now I'm tempted to return Mama's desk to the friend who kept it for me for several years until I could send for it; pack up the KittenCat, my guitar and teddy bear, and book an Uber.
I do wish I had a couple of strong men to lift and load the heavy stuff -- I wish Timothy and John Mark were available, and Onesimus, if he's free ...

up and at em early....:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:..who am i kidding.

a late morning, and it's a gorgeous looking day
and greeting by a nice 5.3..so begins another week here on McGarrett Plains...:D

Scooter won, picking up tonight..quite excited,..i love a new (to me) toy
hadn't mentioned to lauren, but when i did tell her, after the event, she was sad, as she knows i love the bike
(but obviously not enough anymore :sorry:) but quite pleased it's a scooter i replaced it with.

Even talking of going on the back as i become her two wheeled Uber ...so, happiness, tinged with a little sadness
( might still keep both, we'll see;) )

A piaggio BV 125cc, if anyone knows much about them?
called a Beverly over here, so it's even got a name, but that doesn't sound 'right' to me

Suzi, now retiring (Maybe)..So as it's Piaggio, it's got to be Peggy, right
Harriet is the Honda..obvs..:D

solid , dependable....lauren wanted henrietta...:hilarious:
highly strung AND Noisy.:wideyed:....NO Chance..(apologies to all henrietteas..:bag:)

Good-looking scooter! :)
I'm just now seeing your post, and several others I seem to have missed yesterday, maybe when the site was down for maintenance?
I love the fact that Peggy's pillion seat is elevated; it must be great to be able to see the view; I remember riding around the countryside near Auburn Univ. with my "view" the back of a leather jacket and the fringe of hair between helmet and collar ... lol

I wish you and Lauren miles and miles of enjoyment. :)

Hi Saskia I am glad you are here. When the site went down for so long I was hoping you were ok. Dont worry about the furniture shop as they say tomorrow is another day. I didnt get my list of stuff all done today either. I have another problem tomo first thing as my tyre loss of pressure light has come on and last time it was a slow puncture though they were able to fix it at the tyre centre. My problem is I live so far from everywhere. Still not as bad a morning as @HarryBeau who I hope is now resting with a couple of fur babies. When could your move actually happen?

Thank you. :) I am sorry I didn't see your post yesterday. It seems that while the site was down it lost several posts, which I am only just now seeing.
I hope that you have been able to get your puncture fixed ... they're enough of a problem when you live close to a service station; when you live far away ... sigh. I like living far away from commercial centers, but it certainly can be inconvenient, to say the least!
I hope my move can happen sometime this coming summer. I am now at the top of their waiting list, so just have to gather all the required paperwork together, then make an appointment to meet with the manager there, bringing my documents with me, then he will start his paperwork, and an apartment should be available about 3 months from that time.
Thank you about the furniture store. At this point I'm getting to where I don't like to go out much, even with Uber/Lyft -- drive-by shootings usually don't happen during the daytime, but things are getting so crazy here that who knows? All I need are a sofa and a mattress, and I was given two sofas and a mattress at the place where I lived before, so for all I know that might happen at the new place ... when tenants move out of senior apartment buildings their kids/grandkids often just give heavy pieces of furniture away in order to not have to pay to have them hauled away.
But I do have my eye on a lovely red sofa at one store ... :)

Thanks Ian and all best wishes to you and Julie for a smooth transition. Ah yes the staging like making the bed like a mathematic equation not to mention the cushion arranging. We did 26 viewings between April and Oct 2019 without even a snifter of an offer but it was the year it was. The agent says this time we needed to go early as they expect the second half of this year to be just as bad. I think the culprit for fbg is one of those 10 cal jellies I discovered going out of date. It must be the artificial sweetner they use because I remember them being dodgy last summer. Another thing to strike off., never mind.

I hope all will go better this time. :)
