What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Still waiting to find out as the airline we are going with is still flying and the area we are staying is not off limits as yet although not sure about the airport we are flying to. There are now some doubters amongst the party so with everything going on it is looking pretty unlikely that we will go but we shall see. The memories that will be made over this are not the ones I would have chosen.

i would say @Ryhia , as one who has been there, that the flights will NOT take place.

the world will be in lockdown of some sorts by the end of the month
those still able to fly won't either ..
A) be allowed to fly from where they are
B) be able to fly to where they want to go

the world has gone T*ts up..what was normal has now changed.
we must adapt to the new reality.

all those considering holidays anywhere..stop dreaming.please..
you only encourage disappointment
you won't be going anywhere for the next few months.

sorry @Ryhia ..but it is the truth, painful as it maybe.

I never listen to Trump anyway.
But I know some people who do, who say he is offering good leadership, and post links of examples.
I know of others who would like any Republican because they're so terrified of what they call "socialism" they'd presumably rather die than have "The State" cover their health care. :)

pretty sure many don't...it's republican wonderful/scum
or democrat wonderful/scum

But like here the leaders we have are the leaders we have ..UNTIL the next election*

But this shouldn't be about politics
for those fit and healthy it MIGHT be an inconvenient, mild disease,
for others it may be far more sinister.

BUT the govt must make sense , be joined up, and carry a semblance of cohesion

and from the outside i see a joke,,a real worry for the american people.

Well I was watching the vice president and other govt officials tonight describing the measures being put into effect and they sound pretty good to me.
And they decreased my worry.
No joke.

You don't know these things.

Just a thought. Has anyone seen handwash. loo roll, anti bac wipes in the food bank donation points of shops? I know these things were on the lists of needed items before this panic. I wonder how long it will be before some people help themselves from these? May need security guards eventually.

Food bank in the Coop has very little in it at all sadly. Hardly any food let alone the other stuff.
A friend who works on a supermarket checkout said that her own personal hand sanitiser was pinched from the till yesterday by a light fingered customer.

4.1 this morning. I’m awake early as the girls stayed here last night and the little one had tummy ache so we all went to bed early and read stories.
Rain still beating down on the roof and windows, luckily no flooded kitchen when I went down to make coffee - the wind must be in the wrong ( right) direction.
Have a peaceful Sunday all.

Morning All. 5.6 and awake early like @DJC3 - that is an amazing fbg any reason you can think of? Sorry to hear you have heavy rain. Although we have had some rain showers in the last couple of days we have also had spells of sunshine. Hope the little one wakes up feeling better today. We are off to the seaside later, my friend is in hospital in Hastings and we await news of her release. It is two hours drive from us so unfortunately she will have an uncomfortable journey back to ours. Think I will put a small duvet on the passenger seat. Mr PM did that for me after major surgery and i literally wrapped myself up in it to protect from the bumps in the road. It worked well.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Morning fellow early bird! I think the fbg is because of the Parkrun yesterday. I actually had 3.9 after dinner last night!!! It is such a difficult course, the last mile is all uphill and it’s very muddy and slippery so even though I walk most of it, it’s really hard. My daughter came to keep me company yesterday - she wore wellies and was practically in tears at the end, it wasn’t the gentle countryside stroll she’d envisaged!
The duvet wrapping is a great idea. I wish I’d thought of it when I picked my dad up after his heart bypass - I was so aware of all the bumps and potholes in the road, I drove slowly but it must have been v uncomfortable for him. I expect your friend will be glad to get back to the sanctuary of your house. Are all 3 of you intending to remain inside with her all week? Is Mr PM feeling up to the long drive there and back today after not feeling so good recently?

Good Morning and 5.5 for me today.

I have had phone calls from my daughter and son telling us to isolate ourselves now and in great panic mode, I usually find it quite funny when our kids start being so authoritarian, but this time it's all far more serious.

Take care and use your Sunday well.

5.8 this morning which was, admittedly, crumpet-fuelled ;)

Not-so-good news this morning, my friend in Pennsylvania is on lockdown as a suspected case and we are hoping for the best. She's my age but in very good health so is being light-hearted about it and claims it will allow her to get her second novel finished. I hope that is all that happens.

My sister-in-law is a medical administrator in Washington D.C, her view is 'too little, too late' whilst my father-in-law (former chief surgeon and current lecturer in NY state) reckons Pence's obsession with the End Times will kill more people than Trump's dementia and narcissism. :banghead::bag:

My wife wants me to self-isolate but I'm not in a position to do that, so I will ride it out and hope my mongrel gene pool is up to one more mission :)

Morning... so many holiday plans cancelled & businesses closed worrying times...obviously we need to keep safe that is the main priority but there does need to be support for those that are at risk of loving their livelihoods once the threat has waned...grateful for the news @jjraak I'm taking as many precautions as I can but how to stop touching our faces...garden doors opened beasts charging in & out mowing down anything in sight (twigs & grasses) not a care in their world...good to see some community spirit developing in the outside world...woke to a 6.5

Hi just been out to feed Mr Fuzz and of course the girls. Then LL toast and tea! Mr PM much better thanks, thinks it might have been a migraine which is a rare occasion. The plan is for all 3 of us to stay in all week with just going out every few days for bread, milk and veg. I couldnt fit bread other than one loaf in my freezer. But that should be a quick dash with a scarf around my face and hand gelled which hopefully will limit exposure. What plans do you have going forward? I saw your post about the Co Op being empty. I hope the supermarkets start regulating this and stop individuals stripping shelves. Well done on he park run, you deserve your low bgs!

Where do I pitch a post after reading the last couple of pages?:arghh: Amazing fbg @DJC3 and exercise seems to be a key ingredient but I am heavily biased to see things that way. @PenguinMum good fbg and wonderful love shown your friend, the more so in these times. @Muddy Cyclist good to see fbg back in "the zone" and hug for raised concerns. @karen8967 great fbg and enjoy the rest of the weekend. My fbg was too high at 5.7 but my sleep has been better the last 2 nights with a little more lc stodge and a protein snack later in the evening.
The elephant in the room is by turns worrying/scary and from where I sit a reminder that if you leave your brains behind when you vote, after swallowing snake oil, here's where you end up. The hand santiser incident and empty? foodbank point @DJC3 's friend described can't really surprise anyone who has been awake for the last 40 years. IMHO. @jjraak I am happy for you to keep posting. Troubled times for sure but I am hopeful my grandchildren's generation will see how we arrived here and their future will be so much the better for it. I so hope to see part of that. Have a great day.
