I’m just amazed at the symbiotic relationship between rider and horse, it’s wonderful to watch and Im sure you and your horse enjoyed it immensely at whatever level you reached.
I had a memorable holiday in Vienna a few years ago where we visited the Spanish Riding School and saw those beautiful horses performing to Mozart. A really stunning experience.
A few years ago Mr K booked a trip to the Spanish Riding School. It was the 1st March and very cold in Vienna but he told me we were visiting our friends in Southern Spain as he wanted the trip to be a lovely surprise.

Luckily, at the very last minute, our daughters persuaded him that he had to tell me so I could pack warm clothes.

Vienna was magical. We watched the Ice skating in front of Vienna City Hall and went on the Giant Ferris Wheel. The highlight of the trip was of course the Lipizzaner horses. It was such an emotional moment when the horses started performing. It was absolutely stunning. I have such lovely memories of that trip.

if I can control as per bellow range through only diet, Do I still need take any medicine?

  • Before meals: 4 to 7 mmol/l
  • 2 hours after meals: under 8.5 mmol/
I felt your post needs comment but it would be very difficult and wrong to give advise as I am not your doctor and have no medical training. The only thing I would strongly suggest is you try and see a professional with your medication list and also establish if you are Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetic, not easy in the current crisis the world is in.

For many diet and medication are both needed. In my case I never started on any medication, refusing it from the moment I was diagnosed, but that was my choice. Had I have taken medication, personally I certainly would not stop taking it without first consulting my Doctor no matter how well I was controlling my Blood Sugar.

Take care, try and get all the information available before deciding what actions you follow.

Oh that must have been wonderful! I'm glad you got to see them. :)
Even at the basic beginner levels dressage is so amazing. One of my trainers talked about keeping the conversation going between horse and rider, and that's just what it is, a communication between the horse's mouth and the rider's hands, and the rider's seat and legs and the horse's back and sides.

I am really happy to see your comments. You are one who notice, No-One notice.
Actually till now I don't know what type of diabetes of mine. Earlier last year I met doc about something wrong were happening on left side head. The neurologist did many test and did not come up any decision. Within month I met couple of docs but they were failed to find out the real reason. Later go back again the neurologist, this time he found BG 11 & 18 of mine at the age 30. After seeing the report he commented i may only alive 10 years maximum. This is first time I scared really scared, fear, worried all come through in one row. On the same day I met diabetic specialist he gave me 2 to 3 medicine and advised go back to him. I was worried and never back to him. But I started taking medicine. But it was out of control. I think one year gone i did not meet with any doc. I checked sometimes. Some day it was controlled some days not. I do very busy job. It took my day.

Later I appointment with another doc. This guy just threat me. Advised take insulin, i really fell into depression. Days was passing but I think I was not ok.
Finally I start following life style change doc advise through youtube. I bought a treadmill. Now using treadmill and following diet. No medicine.

Before breakfast it's about 5 to 6.2, after lunch it's is 8, sometimes it's 9, after dinner 6 to 8.
Based on measurements trying to adjust diet.

Sorry long story shared with you. Still i don't know what type of diabetes of mine! Really am I going to after 10 years if Corona don't affect me
I think the majority of is felt similar emotions on diagnosis. I know I did. I was offered metformin and statins but declined to try change of lifestyle. It worked. Almost immediately my hba1c started to come down. From 62 to 36. Lost lots if weight (added bonus to going low carb). All my health markers are optimal and Ive never felt better. If you have any questions fire away. We are in this together.

Good morning/evening folks, a straight 6.0 on the dice of doom, some would say that's unfair, others would say that you shouldn't have had a chip butty with your tea.
Have a lovely day all, it's a lovely dawn here. Stay safe.

We cannot advise on medication. You will need to see your doctor for that.
As for your readings. More information please. Then we may be able to make useful suggestions.
We need to know;
BG level before a meal.
What you ate and an estimate of how much helps too.
BG two hours after the meal.
Knowing these things we can help you change for better health.

Another poor nights sleep. Worry is a more constant bedfellow than MrSlim.
6.45am FBG 5.9
Not eating yet and hoping it reduces a bit.
Mentiioned elsewhere MrSlims plans to go shopping today. As long as he brings a copious supply of decent wine, not the awful spanish chardonnay, I picked up in a panic last week, wont be complaining about his choices.
Am tired still and feelings a bit depressed. All this planning for the worst while hoping for the best is getting to me.

Edited to add
7.45am BG down to 5.7
8.30am FBG still 5.7
Breakfast time.

Hugs for the poor night's sleep. I hope Mr Slim brings good wine home. I brought home a bottle of moscato the other day, mixed it with some lemonade, haven't touched it since. But it's a pretty color sitting on the kitchen counter. :)

Morning All except night night @SaskiaKC . 5.8 but I had a bad nights sleep, similar to @SlimLizzy who put it so well so hug to you. I go to bed at 10pm tired but by 3am I am awake and restless dozing on and off till I get up. I was up half an hour and fed the animals before I remembered to test fbg so thats how distracted I am. Mr & Mrs Fuzz have been calling for breakfast since 0600. Then he gobbles it up and she stays in the background but I’m wise to his games now! I am sure we are all anxious.
Hope Thursday is good to you. Stay/get well, stay safe.

What a lovely surprise! They are fabulous aren’t they? And Vienna! What a lovely city! Did you queue at the Hotel Sacha for sachatorte? I’m glad I visited before diagnosis so had no qualms about enjoying it.

And it looks so effortless, that communication. You don’t see the riders hands move, it must be very subtle and gentle. It must have been such a good feeling when you got that conversation going and your horse was able to respond to you.

5.5 this morning. Hugs @PenguinMum and @SlimLizzy I think anxiety is a common cause for us all. 3am waking is becoming more common with me too at the moment.
I’m Feeling a lot better for having been out yesterday though. Medication delivery ( I have an ID card too in case I’m stopped) and some shopping for a neighbour. Everyone out behaving with friendliness and common sense.
I had a panicky phone call from a chap who had picked up one of the flyers with my name and number which I’d left in the docs surgery a fortnight ago. His 81 yo wife had just had the letter saying she must stay indoors and they didn’t know how they were going to be able to get food. He lives in the next village, easy to get to and they like Lidl which isn’t far so I’ll be able to do that for them. I’m just so pleased he had the foresight to pick up my flyer so they don’t have to worry about shopping at least.
Have as good a day as you possibly can.

Me too sleeping poorly. Just about everyone in the land is I guess.

Been awake since 3 am
Watched the dawn

Popeye was rejecting me last night, keeping his distance again. So I examined every inch of him yet again. Found an abscess developing on his head. So hot compresses. I had only just eaten my breakfast...

I have put him on his favourite viewing shelf (actually it's another wooden shoe rack), in the kitchen, he can see the goings on in the front road from there, while stuff is still coming out of the abscess. Initially he glowered at me for not letting him get back on my bed, but then realised the sun was just coming over the rooftops. So he lay down quite happily and his face looks better/happier, now I am giving him hot compresses.

The feral cat that attacked him must be in a very bad way by now health wise. He is still about. I threw an old cooking pan at him, but he just scurried far enough out of reach, turned round and indolently sat on the garden path and looked at me....

Now to work on my indoor vegetable garden today.

Take care
Be safe
xxx

Hi @Debandez how are things with you? I know you have concerns for several folk you and Eric know, How is your daughter and family. Stay well, stay safe all of you.

Thank you for asking PM.
Eric's boss in hospital has not got covid 19. She has double pneumonia. She has started to eat a little so improvement there. Eric's friend made an emotional call to him. Relieved he made it after contracting cv19. My daughter and family seem fine. Amma and Lisa both had symptoms but without testing we won't know if it was cv19. We chat on facetime which we have to be grateful for. They are lucky to have a big back garden and have filled it with a trampoline, slide, paddling pool to occupy our Willow (3). Jasper's just 3 months and oblivious to whats going on. But he is changing every day. This week he started talking. Cant tell a word he is saying but its music to our ears to hear him. Miss cuddles so much but it won't be forever. How are you doing, I see you got a click and collect delivery. Who would have thought getting our shopping delivered could bring such happiness! How is your son and his family?

I have a mobile phone @Ryhia which I use to text with. The chemist do not communicate by text or mobile phone. The doctor's surgery send out texts to your mobile phone to remind you of appointments, but there is no provision to reply back to that text (or to send them an independent text on another matter), only a message saying telephone their landline if you cannot make the appointment. I can't telephone their landline with being deaf because I cannot hear it. And when I get a friend to telephone for me (assuming they are answering), they won't deal with her because she is not me and the data protection act etc...
Can you maybe email? I email mine. Just a thought.
