What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A belated good morning to you all, the meter of doom has decided to take pity on me and not throw out anything above 7 yesterday so happy days me thinks, until 4am this morning and a hypo that woke me up and sent me off down the stairs to eat the fridge! As we are online shopping at the moment I have no jelly babies or fruit pastilles, so I thought stick my head in the fridge and see what I can see! Alas my son has had midnight snack feasts and ate all the biscuits, luckily my wife hides some just for this most special of occasions. so I ate everything ! that'll show him. anyway hope that everyone is safe and well and enjoying their gardens.

Take care and stay safe.

6.1 for me have a good day everyoneView attachment 40396

Normally like your inspirational posts @karen8967

Lovely words indeed.

But being realistic, sadly not true for far too many.

A 6.8 here... Sorry @trick60 , that pile of hot cross buns...too tempting ;)...soz :D

Temp a balmy 36.5 inside the raak machine,
So all good to go.
Sunny and birds singing loudly, so that's nice.

Me and Steph went to Kensington gardens a while back, quite amazed that there were parakeets in the park, a largeish flock of them.

Quite surprised ( I know easily shocked :hilarious:)
To see we have a small group in a tree outside one of the neighbours back garden..

Beautiful looking birds, such bright colours.

Live long & enjoy the days we have.

Raak out :D

Hey Saskia you will get through this but I think we all have to be very patient. I am off to bed now so please dont fret. Hugs and purrs galore.

Thank you. :)
I hope you slept well.
How are you and the girlcats and the Fuzzes this morning?
Hugs and purrs
:) ^. .^

7.7 on a lovely pink and blue and grey morning. The sun has just risen high enough to send some rays this way, and the KittenCat is in my lap.
5 degrees C outside but it is Spring nevertheless: there is a big crane fly on my window screen. Summer bug if there ever was one.

@Krystyna23040 Best wishes to your blackbird couple. Your post brought to mind the blackbird songs I know, courtesy of Paul McCartney, Ray Henderson and Mort Dixon. :)

@OldButBold good to see you around!

Been a bit Choppy with the North South devide banter. What about us lot in the middle?

Faggots and Peas anyone?

Plenty of North South divide over here ... at least, since dx, I no longer have to decide between bagels or buttermilk biscuits with my eggs and bacon. :D

Today's watercolour in my Woodland Series became a disaster, in trying to save it I ended up with a muddy mess so the paper is now drying and I will try again on the clean side tomorrow. Could not face trying another wood picture so moved on to start my next series Hedgerows...

This is the first in the series, Watercolour A4 size about 2 hours. Inspired from a walk in Shropshire last year, taken from a Sketch I had made whilst we ate lunch.

Back to my old painting stile in this painting.

I will complete the Woodland Series.

This was lovely on my phone last night; it is even lovelier this morning on my laptop. It could have inspired Robert Browning.

Need to end this soon but personally I wouldn't ever call the meat from a pork chop tender. - able to tolerate maybe? I googled carlings so thanks. I would swerve the bacon but vinegar is high on my list of God's blessings.

Vinegar is great for cleaning the bathroom. ;)

Would you be willing to share the results of your research on carlings? The only carlings I've known before is this:

Good morning to you and the KC. I arose at 06.30 tested fbg and went out in nightwear and a cardigan to feed Mr & Mrs Fuzz who were waiting for me. There was a grass frost, now 6 hours later the sun is shining and Mr PM and I are about to take our daily stroll.
The girls are sleeping in the sun filled parts of the sitting room.
Hope you have a good day. :):cat:

The Paul McCartney blackbird song always pops into my head whenever.I see or hear a blackbird. Then just the first 2 or 3 lines get replayed in my head over and over again for ages.

Mr K has been really industries and made two folding tables to put next to our recliners to put coffee, newspapers and books on while we relax on the patiom.

He had two small folding stools, which he took the seats off and made tops out of the engineered wood that was leftover when our floors were replaced. The little tables are absolutely brilliant.

i can see why you kept him on...;):hilarious:

@SaskiaKC, Carlings are hard brown pea known by many other names, such as; Maple Peas, Pigeon Peas, Brown Peas and Black or Grey Badgers. Here is a bit of history and a link for a recipe - not the best one I feel as I like mine cooked with lardons and then a good dollop of vinegar.

Another example of the north/south divide in the UK

@PenguinMum Thanks for your concern, however have got all the supplies I need for about a week, maybe more, I can live without tomatoes in my salad. For MrSlim though, would be really struggling. His dietary requirements are almost exact opposite to mine, he needs white bread, rice, pasta and to a lesser extent potatoes. Its those we were short of before I made it to town and back this morning.
@ianpspurs as previously briefly mentioned, its likely that MrSlim will be returning to UK to work for a few months.
While I will hold the fort here. He may have to take the car. Therefore preparations so we both know what is possible. How I can manage. Urgent? He has an interview tomorrow, possibly start within a week, or two...
@dunelm Not seen yeast in weeks. Found a recipe for soda bread using ordinary plain flour. Might still need to make some for MrSlim, but it's definitely better for me if I don't bake real bread....irresistible:greedy:

Hi Lizzy.

We prepped in Jan/ Feb so had plenty of pasta etc
But when I went out, after lockdown, I offered some pasta etc to friends, when I realised that the more exotic pasta was still on shelves.. Lentil, pea etc..

Might do him in an emergency and maybe still on the shelves ?
