Happy St George's Day
Today is the traditional day to pick dandelions for making wine. Mine have mostly gone over

Good morning everyone from another day in paradise in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of excessive seed planting and rinsing sprouting lentils came in at 4.7 this am

St Georges day today - patron saint of all sorts of places. I hope he has a lovely day.

More jumping the gun this morning on the beeb, this time it’s a double pronger about masks (maybe something today) and a vaccine (trial first, vaccine later you muppets). Also some squawking about that there other savior of the human race - no, not Lilly The Pink - but it needs to be able to discriminate between CV-19 and other Corona viruses that may be strolling round your body.

Meanwhile, I will keep taking the vitamins, panic buying vitamins C and D3. Thank goodness that it’s not something serious, like a world shortage of bacon.

I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls,
And woke to find it true;
I wasn't born for an age like this;
Was Smith? Was Jones? Were you?
(George Orwell)

Have the very best day that you can. Koffy calls.

Morning all from a mildly overcast North East, the meter of doom is now playing games with me, it sits loitering with passive aggression, menacing, threatening carnage when you approach full of trepidation to try and extract some form of a number. It meekly bestows a 5.1 followed by a 6, then a 5.2, 5.8 then, just as you think I'm having a good day. It leaps like a leapy thing, grabbing you by the face! Ramming a 11 up your nostril and roaming around the kitchen bellowing in triumph! So by the looks of it normal service is resumed. Enjoy your day everyone, hugs for those that need it and high fives for everyone else.

Take care everyone and stay safe.

@gennepher the castle is interesting. I am guessing that "wooden" door is actually part of the pot. It's most effective

Yes it is @SlimLizzy
It is very effective. J was a good potter...
I used to have a unicorn head J made, but I foolishly put it in the garden, and the hard frosts destroyed it :(

Why are all the radish ready now? When that are three rows planted a fortnight apart. Maybe i can invite neighbours to pick some, if they don't have prêt à Manger radish in their garden.

I don't know how things work near you, but when we are having excess garden plants, veg, and seedlings, we put an online notice on our local community site saying so, and on an agreed day and time we leave the stuff at the front of the house, and anyone can collect them.

I am doing well with my tomato seedlings, and interest has been expressed in them from the site, so when my seedlings are ready, I will make little "pots" with toilet roll tubes, and plant them in them, and then leave a notice on the site, and people can come and collect them.

Quite a few people are doing this. They are checking if there is interest online, and if there is, then this happens.

There was a notice yesterday on the online site from a lady who decided to make some hand made soap as a hobby. She left a notice on the online site saying from 1pm yesterday her hand made soaps would be in a basket from one pm outside her house if anyone wanted to pick some up on their daily walk. Anyway they lady was delighted her hand made soaps all went, and is now making more.

There are other things cropping up like this too...a whole new way of doing things.

Morning...another beautiful day sun is shining the dangerous pets at full play (knocking seven bells out of one another viciously) garden doors wide open...for those of you with extreme sensitivities or a skewed sense of humour look away now...another rescue from the summer house roof yesterday Lola had followed Charlie into the garden adjacent to the end of ours...their exit from there is over the summer house up onto the roof a very small jump onto the garden fence...for some reason Lola hasn't grasped that yet and sits there meowing so I have to effect a rescue...I grabbed her from the roof she spread her claws out right on my cheek...lots of bleeding came in looking like scar face...fortunately it looked worse than it was & she was grateful for her rescue...woke to a 6.8 temperature 35.68

Apparently people were giving her good reviews over it this morning :)
Our small community have a really good support group people volunteering to collect or do shopping...there was an appeal for a local care home for some scented soap the management thought have something scented & pleasant would give their residents a lift...great community spirit.

Scented soaps to put in wardrobes are a good idea. My aunt did that...

Hadn't thought of that gennepher...although I do remember those small circles of moth repellents my mother hung around her clothes hangers before putting them in her wardrobe.

I have always liked Cusson's Imperial Leather (original) bars soap, and I leave them in wardrobes and other places. Then when the scent is gone, I use them, and put a fresh bar in @HarryBeau

5.8 this morning. Off for doggie walk shortly as Mr K has stopped coughing and is safe to go out. It is amazing how well his asthma and hay fever meds work ,- when he remembers to take them. Apparently tree pollen is really high at the moment.

Good news..:)
Yes, from the initial impact, the asthma meds have a really quick effect..I guess that corresponds with how quick an attack can develop, I suppose .

Missus gets hayfever, and similar results.

EDIT.found link.
https://abcnews.go.com/Health/criti...ooms-coronavirus-cases-soar/story?id=69759965

And to others in general.
Not sure if we'll known.

But if breathing is poor
As a last resort, probably while calling or waiting for ambulance, 8-10 sprays of an asthmatics blue inhaler, not the brown
Can open airways and allow more air in.

I will look for the link, but it is what doctors were recommending and doing on admissions to A&E, think I posted a way back on here.

As asthmatic since 11,. I only found that out last year had my most serious attack,, sprayed waited a bit felt no better repeated .eventually got to docs, gasping for breathe,

Doc told me, ten repeated sprays one after the other. That got me to a state where I could breathe and talk .scary day

So blue spray if desperate, for ALL... as a last resort, while calling or waiting for ambulance
10 quick sprays one after the other.

And just to follow up on my previous post re health news.

My surgery had been sending out E- messages
During this crisis.

I got one today with a link to diabetic advise.

Went on it and report among other things prompted low carbs ..specifically the low carb program
And to avoid potatoes pasta rice..

Sure this was advised in some form, but has covid and the financial strain, not to mention health wise now put this front and centre of NHS advise..?

Any one else get a similar post,/message
